I will be in the Canton/Akron, OH area next month, and was wondering if anyone could recommend any quality bottle shops or bars for some unique/local craft beer.

I am traveling from my home in Florida, and would love to bring back a few bottles that I normally cannot find locally.

    Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

If you can make it out to Youngstown/Boardman, Vintage Estate is an excellent shop, with every bottle they sell available in singles. If you're looking for anything specifically from Hoppin' Frog, I would suggest stopping by the actual brewery, as their prices are lower than anywhere else I've seen for their beers (especially after the case discount!).

I second the 101 Bottles recommendation, best shop in the area I have been to.

If you are traveling up from FL (for a slight detour) you ought to be able to swing up through Athens to visit Jackie O's if you wanted to as well.

101 Bottles in Kent: great selection with many available as singles, and 24 taps in their tasting area (and you can get growler fills on some of them). I would also check out Ray's Place and Riverside while in Kent.

Lizardville about 25 minutes north of Akron is sensational as well: 8 very high quality brews on tap (I've had Black Note, Brute, etc on draft there and most you can get growlers of -- although they are pricier for growlers than some other places) and good high end food. Every beer they have is sold as a single for very little markup.

69 Taps in Akron has a fairly good selection (69 choices) for more readily available beers, and the Lockview has very good food and a decent beer selection.

There are a few other great places, but these will have most of what you're looking for.
