Are they still in business? I've driven by numerous times over the last month or so and they have not been open. It seemed like they were doing good business for the most part.....

They've been shut down since the beginning of April I do believe. It was my first choice in the area. Mike the owner was a nice guy, & I wanted to give them my business first before the other guys. I guess rent was pretty ridiculous at that spot.

I really enjoyed how all of the beer was cold, pick 6 options, & clean look/layout of the store. Its really too bad that they didn't survive. We needed a boutique craft beer store like that.

Mike was a super nice guy. I have to wonder why rent was so high in an awful location like that. I mean, for a while it seemed Papa Murphy's was getting robbed twice a week ans that store is in the same lot. I hope they find another option in town....

Andy's bought out their inventory. My son and I were able to pick up some singles at Andy's for a good price. We asked the guy "Why so cheap?". He told us because they bought the Cap 'n Cork inventory for cheap and then passed on the savings to their customers.

I guess it was a very high $$ for rent, and no real reason as to why. The location was a little odd, but yet it was close to Hy-vee, and you'd think that would draw people in, maybe if it was where the smoke shop is? I guess some people didn't know it was there, and others were confused by the name? They were also toying with the idea of getting a sign up to draw more attention.

Either way, I'm still sad it came to this. One thing though that has gone through my head, is that it's also tough to compete with the likes of Andy's, I'm sure they do huge volume...but again, this store I thought of more as a boutique style, and that was what made them more appealing.

Agreed, plus they had a great singles selection.

That sucks. I used to stop there on my trips through Roch. They would bust open almost any 6er if you wanted a single. Nice guys.
