Would Capone's have anything that Food and Friends, Local 44, or the Foodery not have? Not looking for anything specific, just something's I can't get in Virginia. The three stores I listed in Philly have all been great with different things. Capone's would be at least a 30 minute drive from where I am in the city. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, I have been real impressed with all three stores and the different selections. I didn't want to miss anything at Capone's but the three here still have a couple of more things that I want.

Agreed Capones is good but the Food and Friends and the Foodery have you covered. Though I've never been to Local 44

I haven't scoped out the bottle shop at Capone's in a while, but in the past you could sometimes find beers that aren't normally distributed in SEPA. In the past I've bought stuff from East End and Bullfrog (just as an example), and generally Capone's is the only place you can find those beers in the Philly area.

    Good luck.

Capone's is really good too for stuff some rare/old stuff. Around the holidays you'll find multiple years of Brooklyn Monster Ale or find multiple years of Anchor Christmas like I did last year.

Totally agree with this. Multiple vintages of a lot of different brews. You can easily walk out of there with a multi year vertical of quite a few different beers (WWS, Brook BCS, Bigfoot etc)

A bit out of the way, but do not overlook The Beer Store in Southampton. One of the biggest selections of any bottle shop in PA.

Some come with a significant upcharge in price for "cellaring" at room temp in a room exposed to sun and fluorescent light, but they do have extensive verticals going back including Weyerbacher Anniversary beers. As others have mentioned they often carry bottles that are often not sold elsewhere. Also, Matt does a good job with inventory and will save bottles/cans for you behind the counter if there is something they have in stock you specifically want.

If you are driving on I-95, Pinocchio's in Media is also a short detour and on the way back to I95 from Capone's

If you're in Northeast Philly might as well go to The Craft Beer Outlet.
