I am just throwing this out for discussion purposes: Siebel Institute will measure dissolved oxygen for $26; you need to send two bottles:

    “LS6664 Dissolved Oxygen $26 2 bottles needed”

I have no idea how they perform the measurement or how accurate the measurement is.

    Cheers!

our DO meter is optical, so it doesn't need any stirring to get an accurate reading. galvanic membrane probes, even state of the art, require stirring of the solution, and this inevitably caused degassing. it also took some time for the DO reading to stabilize and this allowed the temperature to equilibrate. not a problem really so long as your solution is at room temp.

optical DO meters are more than an incremental step in technology. DO meters have been, up until now, incredibly frustrating and notoriously difficult for anyone but a full laboratory.

also, i'll measure your bottled DO for free if you send a sample.
    Cheers.

Obviously a piercer is used when measuring bottled DO levels.

Not obvious to me but thank you for your input.

    Cheers!
