I was excited to find this beer and nearly drained poured the first one. Still have 3 left, by all means if someone wants it, shoot me a message.

Between this + Grapefruit Sculpin, I don't know what's worse.

Easy - Captain's Daughter. Not sure what all the issues are with GF Sculpin.

wow. Idk how this beer could possibly be that bad that quick. Not defending it. Just havent had any negative experience with it yet. It obviously isnt up to peoples high standards. Or something went terribly wrong in transit. Oh well. More for me.

Its funny i did a blind taste with my friends the other day from 2 different batches (1/06 and 12/08) I knew which one was what and i knew that the 12/08 batch was significantly worse. But one of my friends happened to like the 12/08 batch better. He said he could taste the hops more. All of us explained to him that there was no way he tasted more hops in that batch as it was like butter/mettle.

With that said everyones taste buds can pick up different things. Maybe people who arent familiar with that taste can find enjoyment in it, Not sure how that is possible but hey... i watched it happen.

Absolutely. Especially when you're talking about diacetyl. Some people can pick it up at very low levels, others almost never. Some don't like it, some do. I'm in the former group for both so I will not be trying this beer.

If you can get some of the 1/6 batch i would just to try it. Definitely the best ive had from my 3 different batches.

I still dont get why its such a sought after beer tho. Places getting 2 cases and sell out within an hour

I finally found some (1/6 batch). I thought it was great.

Do most places get Grey Sail deliveries every Friday?

Sorry, I should have referred to it as "Sprite Sculpin."

"Fresca Sculpin" would be more accurate I think.

Redstone in Stoneham has at least 10 cases from 1/16/15 batch. No limit.

I was just gonna post asking if they released another new batch. Found some in boston with the 1/16 date but passed because not knowing about the release i thought people put a new sticker on older cans. Oh well i would have passed anyways.

Grabbed a 1/16 4-pack from Redstone yesterday. Impressed. No sign of the diacetyl other people have mentioned. Great beer.

So, after reading through these CD threads, it seems a DIPA is best consumed as fresh as possible.

    Who knew!?

I was there Wednesday evening and everything I could see had a 12/22 date. It was a big stack of cases though so maybe the 1/16 stuff was farther down.
