Hey All - I'll be traveling to Carmel, IN over the next few days. I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn just north of Indy. I'm looking for some great beer bars as well as bottle shops to bring some beers back home to Nashville. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Pint Room in Carmel is tapping Hop Juju and a lot of other beers on 3/23...including Central State Lazer Raptor (cranberry lime gose). Zombie Dust also will be on tap. Pint Room has over 100 taps so that's probably the best spot. There are others though, BoomBozz Pizza, Upland Carmel and probably others I'm forgetting. As for shops, the Payless on Adams Rd. has a large selection as does the Payless on Range Line Rd. Crown Liquors on Main st. is also another good shop. Also, it looks like Pint Room will have double dry hopped Hopslam on tap on 3/24...called Hop Grand Slam

Get yourself over to Deviate Brewing, on the border of Indy/Carmel (you won't regret it). They were rated in the top 33 new breweries in America by BA magazine and it does not disappoint! Pint Room is good (as @myersk27 notes) and they usually have their tap list up to date through beermenus.com, at least within a few days time. I wouldn't eat there though, I've had more than one terrible experience with their food, though the cheese curds are delicious. Upland taproom in Carmel has good food and they usually have a few good beers on draft, you can't find their taplist though and their standard items are generally nothing better than mediocre. But they do some BA things that are great, their RIS is really good as is the west coast DIPA. You may be able to get Upland sours to go there as well as there was a public release a couple weeks ago and the bottles tend to stick around for a bit now. They're very good; REALLY expensive, but very good. For other bottle shops, I'll second the Carmel Crown on Main St; Vine & Table is also a really good spot, especially for their extensive selection of whiskey.
I will 2nd the pint room and deviate. Both are MUST stop by locations. Partipac lq on 96th St. Is the best bottle shop. Vine and Table might be a good spot to try. I have lived in Carmel for 30+ years. PM me if you have any questions while you are here.
I don't have much to add except to also throw support behind Deviate. Full disclosure, it's my buddy's place and I pour there from time to time. But conflict of interest aside, I really don't think you'd be disappointed there.
My brother lives in Carmel, and those were the exact bottle shops he took me to when I visited last December. Good/great selection at both, with knowledgeable employees as an added bonus. Table and Vine has an amazing scotch selection, too. For beers though, I found myself enjoying several offerings from St. John's Malt Brothers Brewing, Scarlet Lane, Taxman and Black Acre (pint cans; the Rye IPA was solid). Cheers!
Definitely Parti-Pak since you can grab a single out of any 6-pack on the shelf. It's a great way to try a variety of stuff. They have one of the largest selections of craft beers. Just make sure you look at the dates since sometimes they have stuff sitting for too long.
Unless I missed it, doesn't look like anyone mentioned Union Brewing. Cool place right near downtown Carmel, about 2 miles from the Upland tap house. All of their beer is cask, but they have 4 guest taps that are usually C02. No food, but really great Jamaican place next door that shares their beer garden - Jamaican Reggae Grill. Both are tucked in the back of a shopping plaza right on the Monon trail.
I'd add Grand Junction up the road in Westfield. Not talked about as much, but I have liked everything I have had from them
