Do any South Jersey shops carry 007? I have found Boat Beer but that is all.

Carton self-distributes within the state, so any store that carries Boat Beer could, in theory, also also get 077XX*, but there have been many fewer batches of 077XX canned than there have been Boat batches. (Carton experts here on BA can chime in on the actual number and sizes of the Boat vs. 077XX batches, and how much of each batch has been distributed to Carton's retail customers. IIRC not a lot of 077XX cans have made it to retailers, comparatively).

    * It is 077XX - after the most common first 3 digits of Monmouth county zip codes (but not mine - I'm an 085XX).
It is not a reference to James Bond.

You can find it in Cape May County, not sure that helps.

Go to www.CartonBrewing.com and use their Beer Finder.

    Sometimes it's just that easy.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have only had the beer on draft and I thought the bar had it listed as 007. What do I know anyway.

I could not get the finder to work. Have to try again. I was not able to scroll down from the list.

I found Boat at Joe Canals West Deptford but they said they have not received any 077 in a long time.

Yeah garys in madison received 077xx once a few months back but haven't seen it since. A shame since its such a great beer. Really wish boat and 0777xx were as available as some out of state IPA's and session ales that pale in comparison.

What's a reasonable shelf-life for 077? I have a NJ beer connection who's always willing to purchase beer for me (thanks, mom!).

Problem is, I only get to see her once every few months or so.

IIRC, the last batch of cans I bought definitely started to fall off at about 7-8 weeks. Still decent, but there was a noticeable difference at that point.

Pro tip: Locals and members of the brewery refer to it as Oh-Dub (because of the 0 and the two repeated characters).

It has been at Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville, but not often. Like once a month. I tried it at the brewery and it was quite good.

The places that get cans all get both boat and dub cans every time we can. any place that has boat cans and claims they haven't seen dub in more than a month is not being accurate. we can both beers about once a month, we send those to all the can accounts.
we are constantly balancing how much each place gets in order to stretch it and spread it as far around NJ as possible. the retailers that are part of the program get beer every time we produce as long as they:
    • receive it cold and store it cold
    • make it equally available to all their customers (no hiding it)
    • sell 90% of their share between deliveries (or their allocation will reduce. no can in a store will be older than 4 weeks)
    • don't move the prices outside a reasonable markup
we are trying very hard to stay on top of all these aspects and appreciate the community's help.

I know it lasts about a day at most of the South Jersey locations that get it.

Most of the time, Canal's in West Deptford is just about sold out before they can get it on the shelf(of the cooler).

If you live within an hour of the brewery it's just easier to go to there and pick it up. No sense wasting time driving from store to store looking for it. Not to mention 90% of the time they're "sold out". You know they have it in the back somewhere saved for the beer manager's "friends" anyway.

Well, Augie would very well like to know if it getting held back. I assume you are just joking but he was very serious about the arangment he had with retailers on how to sell his product.

we self distribute, so we are very keyed in with our partners in this experiment. i doubt anyone is really that far off the program. more because i think we have selected well and work every day to get it evenly spread as far as it will go. we do appreciate people keeping an eye out there though, we can't see it all. please let us know what/when looks shady as you come across it.
at this point there is a very long waiting list for new retailers. we are working hard to accommodate and part of that is making sure its done in a fair and reasonable manner among all those that get it at this point and that we learn what works for our NJ neighbors in these early stages.

Are there plans anytime soon to distribute these cans to Southeastern PA?

Love what you guys do and the stores I frequent that sell your beer seem to be well on board, so no complaints here. Always excited to see what is on the horizon.

Actually I wasn't joking. The guy at the store told me he had it in the back for people that asked for it.
