What style of beer is Boat beer? Ratebeer says Session IPA, Beeradvocate says American Pale Ale, and Carton themselves say its not an IPA but consider it a "hoppy session ale". If we had to put boat beer into a traditional style of beer what would it be?

One of my favorite beers! Hard not to call it a session IPA due to the super hoppiness of it, but I'd go with APA

I thought it was a Kolsch, I think I read on the can or something. Says brewed with Kolsch yeast. I'm confused didn't think it was an IPA

You know what, it only has around 33IBUs so its really not supper hoppy but taste that way because they use a light German malt bill and kolsch yeast.

Now you know why I made this thread  I would call it a hybrid of a style but closer to the pale ale.

When you say traditional style I'm not sure session IPA is traditional at all. It's probably just an APA

Their own website calls it a session ale and in the description narrows it down to "an IPA for everyday drinking." There you go. Session IPA.

Looks like a witbier, smells and tastes like an IPA. First time I had it, the bartender described it to me as a "fractional IPA." Yeahhh... let's just call it a delicious pale ale!

That sounds like a good description. Whatever you want to call it, it's one of the best beers under 5% I've ever had.
