Interestingly, my wife preferred the Kane for the same reason I preferred the Carton. Less noticeable taste from the Kane Pilsner.

Hopefully. Don’t know if I can make it back to Carton soon enough to get it there. Just saw Frusta at Wegmans in Bridgewater so there’s a chance.

anyone have Festy last year? I never came across it. Wondering how it would compare to the more recent Frusta and Whip?

I’ve never had it but if you want a comparison to style that should be easy to find grab some German festbiers. Hofbrau’s is a festbier as well as weihenstephaner. There are not many American breweries that make them at least that I’ve come across. I’m hopeful I can try cartons if it sees distro.

If I had to guess though I’d say whip since it’s not dry hopped (is it?) but then again with all those American hops it should be pretty different from a fest beer.

I really enjoyed it too. It’s a tad bit “zippy-er” than I was expecting, not in a bad way, I just was expecting more of that honey/biscuity malt sweetness you’d see in a Hofbrau or Weihenstephan. I’m definitely a fan regardless and I’m very glad Carton went the pale festbier route.

Just wondering if anyone here has been to the taproom since it reopened? Curious about numbers of people at a time, lay out, etc. I know people have varying degrees of comfort, so i thought these details might be more informative then general opinions. Thanks all!

The Idaho 7 was very dank, in the truest sense of the word. It smelled like straight up weed.

Also very curious to see how the Cascade changes it.

Speaking of dank, I haven't seen IDIPA in a very long time. I hope it makes a return (along with EGOIPA).

I was gonna say this too. Dank is thrown around a lot but to me I wouldn’t usually call a lot of those beers dank. Last years harvest was just that I agree 100% on that it smelled glorious and tasted awesome.

I agree. And there’s a bunch of it at Wegmans in Bridgewater right now.

I've noticed that the smaller "independent" shops like Peteocks and Home Wine in Hillsborough aren't carrying as much Carton lately and Wegman's has been the go-to spot for Carton in this area.

Yeah, same. Drops have been more infrequent and less variety than usual at my local shops here is South Jersey. The weird part is that I saw a good selection of Carton in my home state of Massachusetts of all places (Festy, Light & Sweet etc). Go figure.
