To help find their beer, outside their brewery (they have their own tap room, where you can buy, drink, and fill growlers), use the following link:

    http://cartonbrewing.com/find-our-beer/

    More info from their website

Tasting room availability is posted on Facebook on Wednesday and Saturday before the sessions begin.

Special releases: When there are new cans we set up a table downstairs for efficiency, but outside of those first couple days they are upstairs in the tap room, which is staffed by really nice people.

How to get to Carton (The BOAT STORY)

    The boat from the city:
On weekdays the Atlantic Highlands stop on Seastreak ferry is 5 blocks straight down 1st Ave (.4 miles 8 minutes walk on Google maps)

On weekends there is a shuttle waiting at the Connors Highlands stop on the ferry that will run you over to the Atlantic Highlands stop (if you are nice to the driver they very well may drop you at Carton as you pass)

OR you can take the ferry to Connors Highlands, walk down Shore Drive to Kranky Cyclesand rent a bike (.3 miles-6minute walk on Google maps) and rent a bike. They have motorized and regular cruisers which can be peddled down the Henry Hudson bike path to Carton (2.9 miles 15 minute peddle according to Google maps) as well as out Sandy Hook for some beach time with stops at any of our local seafood shacks along the way.

I bought a 6er of This Town friday and it was gone by Sunday. Dangerous stuff. . . going to have to stock up for vacation. Additionally I missed out on 2 of my all time favorites, Wit and Dune. Anyone know if any monmouth cty stores still have either?

This year’s batch of Sit Down Son is killer. I noticed that this time it was brewed at Carton (last time it was brewed at Smuttynose) and you can definitely taste the difference. This year’s has a certain mineral note which I really enjoy. I also get it from Boat and a few other Carton beers. Something about that Jersey water

Same applies to Beach this year. Bought a 4pk this weekend and was blown away. While I enjoyed it last year, I usually found myself just wishing I opened a Boat instead. To me, this year's batch definitely has a much more Boat-esque water/mineral profile that didn't quite come through from the Two Roads batches. Also, the citrus comes through a lot more prominently. I'm a fan.

Also - Chris1 is amazing. Anyone who says that Carton can't make a juicy/hazy beer is out of their mind. This is right up there with Fort Point, Eureka, and the rest of the lower ABV hoppy pales.

    Stopped by Carton today.
Really enjoyed Chris 1. It is excellent and I wish I bought more. Beach is spot on.
It goes without saying that Boat is Beyond Reproach

    Carton fans,

I'm traveling to Cape May tomorrow for a week and plan to get a couple 4/6 packs of Carton stuff. Anything specifically you would recommend?

If you can grab any Boat or Beach those are awesome beach/hot weather beers. I was in Avalon last week and couldn't find any in stock locally before we left, so I grabbed some Sit Down Son and Dune Fruit which are also some great light/low ABV options if you see them. Enjoy!

Honestly I would get one of everything they have right now. They’re all pretty light summer beers. Can’t go wrong.

I stopped by my local store yesterday and they had Boat but it was canned in March so I was skeptical. Any thoughts on whether this would still be good after almost 4 months?

Yea anything that old I'd be skeptical of - although, Carton's QC is good enough that it might be fine, who knows. If you can find something fresher obviously that'd be ideal.

Picked up sit down son from a local liquor store, it was a nice lager, good for drinking yesterday in the NC heat and light enough given that I had to drive back to NJ at 5am.

    Would buy again .

Chris 1 is one of the best hoppy beers I’ve had from Carton. I know they already have a bunch of regularly brewed low abv beers but this would make a great addition to the summer rotation.

stopped in today just after opening, and had the whole line up (except for the old stand by o-dub and wit whale). Chris 1 as mentioned was a great juicy hoppy beer, but dry and crisp (bought 2 4pks), I was pleasantly surprised by tip-to-top - creative flavor mix, good flavor - but more of a curiosity than something I want a 4 pack of, but definitely well conceived and executed. Yea We Doin This - not hitting all the right notes. The underlying hoppy beer seems really good, hops are touch green at the moment, but I though the fruits and marzipan (which I'm admittedly not a fan of) didn't mesh well with the hoppy beer... came across a bit medicinal / cough syrupy - but that may be the actual flavor of sloe which I'm not that familiar with TBH... it was better as it warmed, and maybe improves as the hops mellow a bit.

Any idea how I can find out what sixtels are available for purchase at the tap room? I would hope that with the increase in production they will have kegs available more often.

Been awhile since I picked up a keg from them but I did call and they told me what was available and put a boat and hop pun on the side for me. That was over 2 years ago I'd say but it was very easy.

Yup I either call or ask someone behind the bar when I'm there. I recently kicked this town so I'm due to go down and see what I can replace it with.
