interesting... definitely want to try. Curious what the vanilla is contributing? Is it helping the lemon flavor come out more?

    It’s
not contributing as much as reducing. It’s softening the herb sides of the lemon drop profile. It’s there, you’ll get it, but it’s job is controlling non-lemon aromatics.
The net result of the beer is reminiscent of bitter lemon candies.

See above and all the ways I’m trying to use the age old tools of brewing also used in a juicey or shake-y beer with a different end result. If I call it any of the things you are assuming it is it’ll break your heart a lot more when you drink it than just moving on because the language bothers you does.
if it still upsets you accept my apology and let’s move on.

    Hey @augiecarton

Was able to try Beach down in Cape May last week while I was there for vacation and have had 077XX in the past and really enjoyed both. Do you think you'll ever hit Central PA?

This is all very interesting. A comment about knowing what to expect based on the terminology used. In this case “lact-oat” and “late-hopped.”

I’d expect a certain type of beer based on the terms “lact-oat” and “late-hopped” and that it would be more like what you’d expect a from a “juicy or shake-y” beer.

But in this case based on the video and Augie’s comments above, the beer is not exactly what I’d expect. So people in the know would expect a certain beer, but get something that’s actually different. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::crazy_face:

Brilliant. I suppose if I looked up the name behind the beer I could’ve figured that one out myself. Perhaps I’m just one of those low ability types :grin:

I am really digging Are We Doin This. The aroma has a candy and tropical fruit sweetness to me. Kind of like sweet tarts. I love that aroma. Sometimes I get it from Citra and Mosaic hopped beers, but it could also be pomegranate. The flavor threw me for a loop because I find the nose sweet. The beer is not that sweet, and when it warms up reminds me of a dry and acidic white wine. Really excellent stuff.

thanks mam... all in it is supposed to be aromatically something like an alabama slammer or a woo woo shot. some of what chief does with smcoe reminds of "pink shots" so we augmented that a little with the adjuncts.

I've gotta say. It's pretty great to be able to go to my local store and pick up a pack of O-Dub that was canned two weeks ago. I can get used to this sort of thing.
