that's what it says on the can, plus some hops that were focused on the later side of the additions... how straight can a record get?

Good question. If two roads, I'm not touching it. If in NJ I will give another shot

I can't find the post, but I remember @augiecarton saying that they were mixing up the hops from last year. I don't remember if he said where it was brewed.

As of now, and as far as I understand, Beach beer is a two roads project designed for accessibility and shelf life. Just watch a youtube video on the massive over haul at two roads to get an idea of their quality control. Anyhow Im excited for Beach!

This new batch of Sit Dow Son says it was brewed in Atlantic Highlands on the side of the can, also noticed it's a label sleeve rather than a printed can. New Beach cans seem to be label sleeves as well from the photos, as opposed to the printed cans from last summer's Two Roads batches.

Maybe the new facility brought these beers in-house?

Interesting side note, on a semi-recent steal this beer, one of the guest brought a Lawson's sip of sunshine for one of the blinds. John Holl and Augie were both somewhat critical of the beer, and on the reveal they as well as others around the table IIRC were pretty shocked, and went on to say it was not like the SOS they remember from the past... it was fairly recently canned as well... they did touch on the fact its brewed at two roads I think, but did not lay any blame on the brewery though... personally thought it was interesting, and there's certainly been some posts on FB and I think even in here saying Two Roads brewed Carton Beers like IDIPA and Hoppun are not as good as their original Atlantic highlands brewed versions...

Maybe something is lost when they scale up but I find the two roads beers mediocre (though unjunct is the exception IMO). I can't be alone on this; most/all of them are just sitting around at every store near me.

I remember thinking that about IDIPA but not the others. As far as sitting around, I thought the same but when I checked dates I’ve noticed that they usually seem to be replenished with newer cans.

Ya, but Sip was always brewed at Two Roads, so should have been immaterial. Whereas, IDIPA was not. Regardless, Sean has commented on some of the batches himself, putting an emphasis on crop rotation when not up to snuff

Thanks for the side note, I will certainly check out that episode. I have never had any of the original Atlantic highland versions of whats being brewed at two roads right now.

The whole Idea of passing along a recipe to another brewer should in theory result-in the same beer, especially with all the water adjustments in place, but we have all seen for some reason that doesn't seem to be the case. I mean it was not to long ago that this site was being over polluted with topics such as "Green Flash ruined Alpines Beers" and such. How that can be if the recipe is the same is beyond my understanding, but I am curious as to why that is.

I sense Augie will at some point jump in here to tell us what’s what as far as this goes...

    back to the beer...

anyone notice that the new Beach can label now says "Overhopped Session Ale"? Last year's simply said Session Ale? How many dry hops does it take to be over hopped?:stuck_out_tongue:

Brewed in Atlantic Highlands this time. It's way better than I remember it. Definitely has more of a boaty flavor.

I’m with @J5ryall on this one. Beach was fine but I really have no reason to buy it, so long as I have access to Boat. Beach didn’t do anything for me. Boat will never stop doing it’s thing for me.

imo, Sip of Sunshine is over rated.

will have to take a trip down to Carton for some Beach (and boat) soon though.
