Carton Brewing (November/December 2018)

5 four packs of BDG left at Roger Wilco. Martin’s Liquors in Mt. Laurel had some over the weekend.

(Would’ve bought a whole lot more but I wasn’t trying to get greedy...plus, they had Proclamation)

This beer very much represents why Carton is awesome. Completely nails the style, with a unique and ridiculously well-executed twist.

 

Awesome that they have a dubbel and a tripel available in cans right now.

 

I think my favorite thing about carton is the diversity, uniqueness, and thought they seem to put into everything. I love reading each can and seeing what their intentions we're and why. Not like most of your normal IG posts these days: "we hit this with a ton of citra, and then hit it with even more of the citra and mosaic in the dry hop, this is the best batch we've brewed to date."

 

you forgot "juiciest brew ever"

 

Also, don't forget all of the other popular verbs....

"We smashed this with 100% cryo hops and just a hint of milk sugar"

"We crushed this with more Galaxy than ever before"

"We slammed this..."

And on and on and on into parody.

Does any1 know the general timeframe when coffee and its variants come out? I haven't yet made it up to Carton for a proper visit yet and figured I'd try and time it with when they come out as its ~1hr10 min from me. Thx!

 

I believe the general timeframe is New Years Day and possibly the weekend after. I try to stay sober enough on NYE that I won’t be hungover the following day and can make the long drive.

 

I'm too lazy to look further back than this past year on Instagram, but the regular was Jan 6th, then the variants the next weekend and the irregular the next weekend. Not sure if that's every year they've done that or not, feel free to dig into their Instagram I guess. And just because they did it that way last year doesn't obligate them to do it that way again. But from a business perspective that probably is what they'll do (extra taproom traffic x 3 weekends plus oh hey sure I'll pick up this other four pack etc vs 1 blowout weekend)...
Or they release everything New year's day and I'll be totally wrong.

 

Sometime early next year is best guess. Was put out on NYE two years ago and now everyone assumes its then even though it was the only time it was out that day. Know people showed up expecting it then last year and were pissed it wasnt there

Gilded Lily and Decoy both in distribution which is amazing. So happy. I have a question though. Do you see less traffic in your tasting room now that your distribution is so good? The brewery is a bit of a pain to get to. I have not been in quite some time because I can now get boat and pretty much whatever else I need at my stores

 

actually more. our space is so modest that it limited what could go on in there, now that clean brewing has moved next door and more room freed up in the tasting room and retail moved downstairs we are seeing more (and more comfortable people
