    New monthly Carton thread.

To help find their beer, outside their brewery (they have their own tap room, where you can buy, drink, and fill growlers), use the following link:

    http://cartonbrewing.com/find-our-beer/

    More info from their website

    http://cartonbrewing.com/

Tasting room availability is posted on Facebook on Wednesday and Saturday before the sessions begin.

    https://www.facebook.com/cartonbrewing/

Special releases: When there are new cans we set up a table downstairs for efficiency, but outside of those first couple days they are upstairs in the tap room, which is staffed by really nice people.

That Pumpkin Cream Ale was just as good as I remember a few years ago.

Was anybody over there on Sunday? Wanted to go over there for cans today but need some arm twisting! Assuming that the new sour will be there but curious if the Odub Warrior and Pumpkin Cream all looked like they were lasting ?

They'll post on facebook in about an hour. You should be in good shape with both. They updated beermenus earlier, and didn't take any of the cans off their list.

Stopped at the brewery yesterday to pick up some Pumpkin Cream Ale and Warrior. They were serving the Pumpkin Cream through the Randall filled with candy corn. It gave the ale a different color and it was really sweet. I enjoyed it but wouldn't want to make a steady diet of it. I really like the high gravity of Carton's cream ales and while I'm not big on pumpkin beers generally I really like this one!

I'm not big on cream ales in general, at least I don't think I am, but I've been consistently impressed with Carton's cream ale based stuff. Augie's description of this as pumpkin beer for people who hate pumpkin beer really fits it perfectly. They clearly used actual pumpkin instead of all the spices that people associate with pumpkin flavored things. It's subtle but there and really nice sitting outside on a beautiful fall afternoon/evening

Anyone who have tried EGOIPA what do you think? I got lot of cabbage, onion, garlic to the point I had to force myself to finish it. 10%abv didnt do any help either...

These sound like reasons that I will love it. Besides the 10% thing...

I've had a few cans of EGO and absolutely love it. I definitely get the stanky onion and garlic your describing, but to me these are positives. I also pick up on some pine and fruity undertones. I feel like the word "dank" is thrown around a lot, but to me this beer smells like a big sack of top shelf herb, and that is dank. The booziness and sweet malts play well with these flavors (maybe accentuates them?), another winner from Carton.

What did you think of ID?

Yeah, I had very similar impressions. I know I was taking a risk buying the 4 pack. It's officially THE dankest beer I've ever had. I'm really into "drinking"-type beers at the moment (Helles/Dunkel Lager, Maerzen, Festbier, Hefeweizen, Pilsner, Schwarzbier, etc.) so my opinion of Ego may have also been influenced by that, but I'm glad I got to try it at least. I might see what a little age does to the other 3 cans I have...

Also RE: Pumpkin Cream, I really dig it. Augie was right--it's the pumpkin beer for non pumpkin beer drinkers. Way more going on in it compared to the countless pumpkin spice beers out there...

    Never had ID.

10% abv didnt bother much. But that vegetal, cabbage, onion garlic turned me off. I am not sure about the hops used but in general Cascade doest work for me. I get to much vegetal notes from it.

This is the only beer that I think lives up to dank. Word is thrown around way too often, this one had weed all over the back end and the thick juicy sweet malt.

Agreed. This is from my review:
"smells like a Black Crowes concert with some honey and citrus thrown in"

I love the onion-ey hops. EGO beat out ID for the single weediest beer I've ever tasted. And I mean that as I compliment!
