    New monthly Carton thread.

To help find their beer, outside their brewery (they have their own tap room, where you can buy, drink, and fill growlers), use the following link:

    http://cartonbrewing.com/find-our-beer/

    More info from their website

    http://cartonbrewing.com/

Tasting room availability is posted on Facebook on Wednesday and Saturday before the sessions begin.

    https://www.facebook.com/cartonbrewing/

Special releases: When there are new cans we set up a table downstairs for efficiency, but outside of those first couple days they are upstairs in the tap room, which is staffed by really nice people.

    FAQ

To enhance the Carton brewery experience, the following local food recommendations have been suggested.

http://www.kunyasiam.com/ basicly across the street and BYO, very good thai that a growler of Dub rounds out nicely

http://www.thecoppercanyon.com/ serious level southwestern versions of jersy restaurant food the place we make Carton Canyon for

https://www.beermenus.com/places/19405-gaslight owned by the copper canyon guys dependably aspirational pub grub good craft list

http://www.ahwinebar.com/restaurant/ proper NJ bar with boat on tap

http://www.christinesitaliandining.com/ small place proper restaurant Italian BYOB

these are just the one's on our street and just the highlights at that there are also 2 pizza places, 2 delis a good bagel shop and a proper diner

there's also great mexican and a couple more pubs like chubby pickle in highlands. bahr's/mobys which we make wit whale for is classic shore seafood and 2 of the 4 places doing that right there

best bet is tell the tasting room servers what your'e in the mood for and how far you'r comfortable traveling and they will guide you well

Does anyone know what day stores typically get shipments? I know Buy Rite in JC gets cans but I never seem to see them whan I'm in there. Hoping to grab some Boat for a wedding in CT this weekend.

    Thanks

Buyrite JC gets it on Thursdays. Of course not every Thursdays. However, today might be your lucky day....good luck.

The Buy Rite out by where I work (in Cranbury Township) has been getting fresh (and I mean like canned-the-day-before fresh) cans on Tuesdays lately.

Visiting the brewery for the first time on Sat, anybody know if they fill any growlers? And I guess they only fill 32oz's not 64's as per their facebook posts? I checked on their website and didn't see any info on the growlers and unfortunately not on the first posts of these monthly threads either. Maybe OP can add? Great job on making these every month btw.

Also how crowded does it get in the tasting room on Saturday's? it looked pretty small in the pictures

As long as the growler has the "Government" thing a mah thing in the back, they will fill it up.

Fair warning, they partially put a sticker on your growler - or at least they used to.

But they do 32 oz and 64 oz fills. I believe the only one they are doing just 32oz is Motueka Dub. They add a new post on Saturdays so you can check that for availability.

Anyone have experience finding cans of O dubs at Uncorked in Ho-ho-kus or the Whole Foods in Paramus? Both are listed on Carton's site. I'm on the NY/NJ border, so it's a bit of a drive and I'm trying to figure out if I can just go whenever I want or if I should try to hit up places on certain days.

I used to have multiple spots I could get Boat and Dub in South Jersey and I would on an almost weekly basis.

I haven't seen or purchased a Carton can in over a year now. All gone.

Life used to be good until all these people jumped on the craft beer wagon. Wonder if it will ever subside.

I managed to score a 4 pack of Boat from the place I listed above in Ho-ho-kus. I didn't see any in the cooler, but I asked the guy when I paid for something else and he said he keeps it in the back and people have to ask for it to be able to purchase it. Limit 1 4 pack per person.

He also said he hasn't had any dubs in since Summer started.

I almost always have to go to the brewery to get cans. Luckily it's not too far and the good thing about going to Carton is being able to purchase way more than we can at stores.

And you can get a couple of growlers, try some beer that has been run through a Randall full of freeze dried grasshoppers......
I have always enjoyed the vibe at the brewery. I think it is a great hang. Wish I could get there more often.

I had always thought that the Carton retail philosophy was that cans had to be out with the rest of the stores refrigerated stock but lately even Canals is keeping them in the back (and limiting to one 4 pack). Did something change other than the demand continuing to rise?

I think they can keep the cans in the back, just have to sell you one if they have them. i.e. can't hold them for "VIP customers" or regulars or whatever. Augie's post history will tell you
