Just a great story overall, looking forward to my first visit this weekend.

The sour dark brown ale Carton brought to last year's Soured in September at Capt. Lawrence was my favorite beer of the event. Complex and all kinds of sour, really drinkable.

A chocolaty sour? I'm game. Sounds fun.

Augie wrote elsewhere that he's bringing Disaster to this year's sour'd in sept.

Was lucky enough to get a small sample of this from the generous brewers when my good friend @Rhettroactive and I visited a few months ago. I can confirm it is the best sour stout I've ever had. Complex, luscious mouthfeel, big vinous and dark fruit qualities, with near perfect balance. What a treat y'all are in for.

I should also say the team at Carton is a group of some of the nicest most genuine people I've ever met in beer.

So this is just one barrel, huh. Not going to be the easiest thing to find... Sounds delicious though.

yes but its the answer to the old zen question "what's the sound of one solera clapping?" it is essentially a bottomless barrel. every time we take some out we top up again. sometimes it'll be cool again in 6 months some times much longer but we have been pulling for a over year now, and we are pleased with what that process produces. at this point we decided to share some beyond the basement dwellers. we are patient, as long as it keeps going somewhere cool there will always be another opportunity to taste it on the horizon.
