Sorry to have to do this, I like to do my own research when I can but I was just informed by my wife that we're headed up to our friend's place in Morristown, NJ for new year's so I'm looking to see if there is any place near Morristown that is a good place to look for Carton's stuff? (and I'll throw Kane in there as well, not sure if they distribute that far?) Looking at Carton's website it looks like Gary's Wines in Madison or Bernardsville are the closest options, although looking at their website and searching for "Carton" is not very reassuring. Are those good spots to look for Carton? Or are there any good options that are an easy on/off on 287 or the turnpike? Unfortunately my knowledge of towns in NJ and what's near Morristown and/or 287/the turnpike is limited. Thanks in advance!
You could try heading over to Cloverleaf Tavern in Caldwell. They usually have Carton stuff on and fill growlers too.
I stopped at the liquor store attached to the wegmans in cherry hill. I asked about Carton and was told that they only distribute cans where they also distribute kegs for growler fills. I have many doubts about that statement, but you can decide if it is helpful or not.
Gary's usually has cans of Boat and does get 0dub. Not sure with the holiday if they still have any, but I can usually get Boat anytime I'm there.
If I were you I'd GPS Joe Canals in Woodbridge. It's close to the beginning of 287, then you can jump back on 287 and head up to Morristown. Then have cans of Boat and 077XX and usually have Kane and Carton for growlers fills. Or I'd do the Gary's in Madison for convenience.
This is it. I don't go to either place that often, but these are the closest places that might have it. But don't expect anything other than Boat and maybe 077XX. And I'd trust Bernardsville more than Madison. If you're heading up 287 on your way into Morristown, stop at Bernardsville on your way. It's off 287 just south of Morristown, then continue on up 202 north til you hit Morristown. Yeah, this is not true in the least bit. None of the stores I've bought Carton cans at - Gary's Wayne, Shop Rite Caldwell, Gary's Madison, Gary's Bernardsville - even have growler stations.
Thanks for the help everyone! I think my game plan will be to stop by Woodbridge on my way up for something tonight and maybe a stop at one of the Gary's locations for something to bring home with me.
I second the Cloverleaf recommendation - not too far from Morristown. I was there last weekend and they had an exclusive 077XX variant and Kane Head High on draft (and for growler fills).
