While i'm not a session person per se, I find BOAT to be refreshing. Nothing like it on a hot day slaving over the BBQ. I recently had a cousin from Dallas stay with us. He only would every drink bud light or things of that nature. I handed him a Sit Down Son and he LOVED it. Then I gave him a BOAT and i could see it in his eyes - his life might have changed from that moment on. Then he realized he couldnt buy it in Texas and his world was shattered, yet again. lol Keep up the good work @augiecarton !

Love Boat and 0dub and hoppun is a beer that keeps growing on me. Epitome was excellent this year, and SS Yirgacheffe was just shockingly good. Likewise the one can of Idipa I lucked into.

Many of Cartons beers are very left field but they always feel well thought out even if I don't find them as satisfying as some of their other beers I mentioned above.

I could barely finish the 10 oz of Irish coffee I tried, but it was still interesting. Same with gilded lily and swisher and decoy and several others but they were still interesting experiences. They certainly weren't bland dull or boring.

Loved SS Yirgacheffe...would really love to get a taste of Cosmonaut again, that was so unbelievably good

Yea there's clearly plenty of beers I haven't had. I never even heard of Cosmonaut. I gotta get to Carton more

Regular Coffee kinda has to be brewed every year...it's that good. Until recently it was the only beer of its style on the market and even with recent breweries slightly mimicking its style I think it's in a league of its own. I may only want 1-2 in a sitting but that doesn't take away from how good it is.

Can't wait for reg coffee, but moreover I remember seeing some label approvals on here for my favorite Carton beer RRR. Any chance we will see that this spring?@augiecarton

The first time I had Regular Coffee it really blew my mind. I was like, "You can do this with beer?" That was the one that single-handedly turned me into a craft beer fanatic. I seek out new beers regularly hoping to get that same Regular Coffee "WOW."

It came out in mid-January last year so hopefully it will be available soon. One of my absolute favorite beers ever.

I've never had any Carton beers, but for anyone who's had both, how does Boat compare to Stillwater's Yacht? That's one of my favorite beers of the last year, and its really made me interested to try Boat. If I had my way there would always be some Yacht in my fridge.

Not really similar at all except they are both sessions beers. Boat is a session IPA for double IPA drinks, Yacht is a session lager. Cartons Sit Down Son is their response to Yacht and is very similar, better than Yacht in my opinion.

Theres a tap takeover in AC listed on their FB page for the 30th where Irish Coffee and Regular Coffe are listed on the taplist. So its gotta be coming soon

Doesn't Boat use Kolsch yeast? Does anyone know if its fermented cold? I don't think Yacht really has the flavor profile I typically associate with lagers, even hoppy lagers. The aroma is more purely like a bag of fresh hops than any other beer I've had. If Sit Down Son is similar, I would definitely like to try it.

I know a lot of people felt that Irish Coffee was too minty but I absolutely loved it. Really curious to try the Churro variant at EBF.

Sit Down Son is a step up from Yacht IMO - a much smoother, enjoyable session lager with less carbonation and more similarity between the nose and flavor profile. As far as styles go I prefer Boat, but SDS is a solid brew.

Excited to try this year's Irish and see if it holds up to my memories of last year.

Have a 2015 reg coffee, need my buddies to send me 2016 and side by side them.

Sit down son I really enjoyed for the style.

I find that SS is better when it warms up a little, had a can last week, so damn good, need to send some cans down for a trade to a friend in NC.

Oh most definitely...Boat is probably the only session beer I've had that tastes increasingly better with each pint and I can drink for hours at a time.

Have yet to have a beer that compares to Boat from a session beer perspective, gave a can of that and SS to a friend that manages a restaurant with a nice bottle selection too here in VA, he agreed that it was the best session beer he's had.
