Stopped in at 'Nova last Friday to fill up growlers and they were out of Alesmith and NG Strawberry. I talked to the NG dropoff guy and he said his distributor was all out of NG Strawberry for the area. I'm not sure if this is a temporary thing or not. I did find some Alesmith and NG Strawberry at Chicones.

That is interesting. Very very different. Both absolutely fantastic and hard to compare really.

Nova is the first place to run out of anything. There are about 9 other stores in Hudson that have Strawberry Rhubarb.

Well, I never thought of milk jugs....but unique enough?! Nah, ive got a handful from Rockbottom, Granite city, etc. Hell I stock them in my store. I got 64oz and 32oz for homebrewers. Anyone looking for a trade that day? Sorry for the lack of variability but it would be early Monday afternoon that id be swinging through and on a tight schedule, but ive got a lot to offer, just ask.

I am going to try to make the middle five popular. You know, for the vertically challenged an the fat guys who are too lazy to bend down. So the proper technique will be:
put elbow to side, rotate outwards to from body, wait for the same gesture in return. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen. And for those that are vertically challenged, I will adjust the height of my "middle five" to make you feel less uncomfortable.

Anyone know if Nova will fill 2 32oz growlers? Also does anyone know if you can still get all 3 NG fruit beers in Hudson? I'm heading over there early this afternoon and am supposed to grab them for someone. I'm hoping chicones has anything Nova doesn't.

Ugh, phones are the worst. I can't pretend I'm working while on the phone with liquor stores.

Casanova's will fill 32 oz growlers, but will still charge the same as a 64 oz growler

They need to start capping on foam when filling their growlers. Way too much oxygen sitting on top of the last few growlers I've had filled. I even brought it up, was told "we fill to the fill line."

They were capping on foam today, maybe they took it to heart. Strawberry rhubarb and serendipity are at Nova, chicones has raspberry tart. They will fill 2 32oz growlers of the same beer for the price of 1 64oz

That is a pretty cool deal. But if I bring in four 16oz swingtops, will they fill those for the same price?!?!:grinning:

    There you go.
    Looks like you're all set!
Nice to know the growler rules.

Yeah, thanks for the offer anyways!

Well that's just insane, they'd be losing an arm and a leg filling that many bottles. I guess next you're going to suggest they fill 8 - 8oz bottles for you. I may have gotten one over on them with the 32oz'ers but I'm guessing you aren't the smooth salesman I am.:stuck_out_tongue:

If you like German food, I'd recommend going to the Winzer Stube. Really good food and a really nice German beer list.

Anyone know if they can fill growlers right at 9 when they open? Or is it not until 11 when the restaurant opens?
