I'm looking for an american pale ale hopped with cascade or centennial hops that has an IBU around 40-50. I LOVED sierra nevada's pale ale. and Bitter american is amazing as well, just looking for something new.
Mendocino has an anniversary pale ale with single hop cascade. it's not on BA yet but found it at Costco in Santa Ana lol
Deschutes Mirror Pond has Cascade hops and 40 IBU. Deschutes Red Chair has Cascade and Centennial hops and 60 IBU. Fremont UniversAle Pale has Cascade and Centennial, but it might be hard for you to get in Georgia. Tasty beer.
Great Lakes Burning River showcases cascade and is a perfect example of a traditional pale ale, IMO..
I don't know this for sure, but I believe New Glarus' Moon Man uses Cascade hops. Dan Carey is not at all revealing about his recipes, however.
Deschutes has the recipe for a clone posted on their site ( kind of ) ... dig it. http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/recipe/mirror-pond-pale-ale-clone
The first two that came to mind were Anchor Liberty and Mirror Pond, which have already been mentioned (though I doubt you can even get Mirror Pond)- both great, classic beers. Goose Island IPA is kind of on the border between IPA/APA (like Liberty Ale), and might also be worth considering; it's got a really nice Cascade/Centennial thing going for it as well. And, since we're in IPA territory anyway, also check out SN Celebration Ale in the upcoming months (it might be too bitter, but you never know).
It isn't as highly hopped as you want, but the original New Albion and the San Adams reissue of it was pretty close. IT was brewed with straight 2-row and Cascade hops. According to research, it was about 30 IBU. I homebrewed a version using a recipe from Brew Your Own magazine (only adding a dash of Crystal Malt for complexity) and it came out way too drinkable. I just brewed it again last week, with a slightly darker Crystal, and more hops. I didn't do the math, but it'll probably end up somewhere around the 40 or so mark. It's still a few weeks off from drinking but I'm looking forward to it.
