Looks like Apricot is being released tomorrow for $18 bucks. I thought they were $17 last year? Anyone remember? Please don't get up and bum rush the stores all at once now.
Soon you're going to tell me the story when stores in town couldn't give away bottles of Cantillon...
I don't know about give away, but I remember when you could go into Belmont Station and for the most part find one or two varieties available that would casually be sitting on the shelf. No one rushing in to get them before they were dried up in town. Does anyone else remember when Green Dragon used to have the mystery Cantillon tap? That was before Rogue bought them, and Cantillon was never on the taplist, but if you asked they brought a 12oz snifter of the goodness for only around $6.
'08 and '09 BCBS sitting on the shelf at the same time. Same goes for Cantillon. Multiple vintages sitting at John's collecting dust.
Too rich for my blood. After enjoying some exceptional Belgian sours lately, I am on this unfortunate track where all the American sours I am drinking all taste alike....
Oh, I remember walking past the same bottle of St. Lamnivus (at 32 dollars) every week for about a year. And a bottle of 2008 Fou Fone. Oops.
Yes, it was $17 last year. Hopefully this doesn't mean stores in the Seattle area will be marking it up more this year.
There was a time (7-8 years ago) when we could actually special order kegs of it for customers. In fact, Puckerfest was started in part because we had special ordered a keg of Fou'Foune for someone and they never picked it up. We had it sitting on our keg list for months, and finally came up with the idea of having a festival of sour beer in order to get it out of the way because no one in their right mind (at the time) would spend $300+ on a 30ltr keg.
