I saw a bottle randomly the other day, fruit something or other but I was in a hurry and had to run. A friend tells me he found a bottle of Sang Noir (98 on BA!) in Decatur. I'm not having luck at my usual places. Anyone know a reliable place to snag a few bottles?

I've seen it in most bottle shops. Most avoid it because of its high price.

High prices compared to what, Budwesier? Quality over quantity.

I see it sit on the shelves here a lot in FL, it probably is the price that deters most people. When looking at shelf where most bottles are $10-15 its hard to justify buying the $30-40 bottle, even if it is quality, just to try something new. I wonder if Cascade prices are any lower on the west coast.

Sang Noir, Blackcap Raspberry, and Blackberry are in GA distro. Have been for a few months. Both Ale Yeah! Roswell and Decatur have all three.

Prices are $25-$29. Not unreasonable for a sour in 750 mL considering some are world class rated beer.

Their prices went up by almost $10 per bottle when the brew house stopped shipping. I agree that the quality is there but the jump from $20 something to $30 something makes it a special occasion beer for me. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you look around.

Cascade beers are definitely good, but they don't use any brett at all, their beers use only saccharomyces. Which is completely fine, but that means they're all sourness with little to no funk. Some folks like that, but I find them to be a little one-note and not very complex.

I've tried most of the ones we've gotten here and enjoyed them all, but never felt compelled to go drop $30 on the same one a second time. I'd rather splurge on something like a Sang Rouge or a Sang Noir than a Bruery sour that costs almost just as much though.

Compared to pretty much every other craft beer.

I've been to the brewery... a little cheaper there but not much. The locals don't particularly drink it all that much (according to the locals I talked to) because its so much more expensive than all the other good beer they have in the area.

If you're getting them for $25-$29, I'd pick some up. There are a couple in that range, but most seem to sit in the $30-$35 range with a couple hitting almost $40. They're definitely good, but damn!

Shelf turding it up. Price makes people put them back ususlly.

Good beers though. Enjoyed a sang noir last night

When they were sold online, they were $30 and up. So to see $25-30 on shelf, after going through GA's shitty distro, I won't complain. I just want more than three choices.

Are these fairly new to the Georgia/Atlanta distro? I know in NC when they started it seemed like pretty much everyone had the same 2-4 bottles, but now we get a fairly wide lineup. I think my local has maybe 5-6 different ones right now and fairly sure they don't stock the whole lineup available in NC.

Yeah it's still fairly new to the Atlanta distro.

I check the South Atlantic thread a lot, since I used to live in Charleston. I moved out to HI a little over a year ago. Anyway, we have Cascade here, usually find it for $25-30 here in the grocery stores, it sits a while. I haven't bought any though, I'm a bit of a tightwad, and it's expensive as sh!t to live here.

I paid 17$ for bottles of Kriek and Apricot years ago. Pretty much nobody charged that much back then - just Tomme. It's definitely disappointing to see these beers go for 30+ now but the game has changed.. Many beers are 50% more than they were 5 years ago. I hope we see more Cascade beers in ATL, they make some nice occasion beers. I was always fond of The Vine
