I just picked up Cascade Apricot at my local bottle shop here in the LES, Malt and Mold and it is phenomenal! Anybody have any idea when/how often this brewery's beers are released in New York city? I was very happy to find a few just hanging out on the shelf here, In my experience these beers are very hard to find.

Until recently you could buy their stuff online directly from the brewery, but they recently stopped "due to the legalities of sending beer across state lines."

Not sure what their distribution will be like now, but I imagine it will be pretty hard to find on the east coast.

Mind sharing how much you paid and if there were more on shelf? Have heard good things but price point has been crazy.

Saw some Apricot at WF Tribeca a week ago for 24.95. That's as good as you'll find it. The more specialty bottle shops are definitely charging at least 30.

There was a single shipment recently, I don't think they send stuff to market here too often. Maybe once or twice a year at most.

$35. Malt and Mold is one of the more expensive beer stores. Still, Cascade's brews are sure expensive.

Yeah, it was $35 which seems to be the going rate in the city. It looked he had just under a case, like 10, when I was in there yesterday.

One option is to buy 12 bottles directly from the brewery and have it shipped if you can. I split it with 2 other guys and Cascade shipped them to my office in Manhattan. The cost was about $4 per bottle for shipping. We got a great assortment and didn't get hit with the crazy up charges of some of the shops. Only took 3 days for them to arrive.

They stopped shipping their beers, it seems.

C-Town in Astoria currently has Apricot, Kriek, Blueberry, and The Vine at $29.99/bottle

    Edit: 28th Ave C-Town

    50% mark-up, what a deal

Factoring shipping from bringonthebeer adds an extra $5ish/bottle to the price, bringing it to $25ish/bottle. Further, one must purchase a minimum of 6 from bringonthebeer for them to ship. So, one may choose to try one at $29.99 (and leave a store with it in one's hands) or buy it at $25, which necessitates that same one spending quite a bit more to actually be able to buy it at this price. Not quite a "50% mark-up."

fair point, but if/when I order beer from an online site, I never order 1. obviously I'm keenly aware of s/h and how it affects the overall charge. as I would imagine anyone would be

edit: even when you could order from Cascade direct, you have to factor s/h in (and multiples). does that $30 in Queens include tax? probably not

That must be very recent. I just placed the order less than a month ago.

We are re-evaluating our distribution schedule to the east coast, so stay tuned. Should be good news.
