Any idea how long this will last? In town Monday and hoping to snag some.

I had this on tap back in April and I thought it was good (not great though). On par with Blueberry. My favorites from the brewery during my trip were Nightfall Blackberry (yummm) and Sang Noir.

Was there a bottle count released on this? I won't be getting down to PDX until next weekend and I'm hoping it's still around.

I agree with this, pretty good but not incredible. Sang Noir is awesome, as was the Blueberry Bourbonic.

Do they bottle the Bourbonic series?

Definitely different strokes for different folks - I liked the strawberry quite a bit on tap, whereas I found the Blueberry Bourbonic really, really odd, almost smoked-smelling and tasting, and have also noted an odd note in the 2 bottles of Sang Noir I've tried thus far.

As far as I know, they've only ever bottled the straight Bourbonic, and they haven't even done that one in awhile.

Agreed on the Noir being off in the bottles. Getting a little acetone that wasn't there on-tap myself. And yes, regular Bourbonic is the only Bourbonic bottled to date.

Still plenty of Sang Noir at bottle shops in Seattle, but I haven't pulled the trigger on it... yet.

Anyone down there coming back to Seattle? I'd be willing to pay extra in beer if you'd be good enough to bring me some back.

Stopped by the barrel room last night. Bottles were still available, with the 4 bottle per customer limit. The blueberry bourbonic had kicked, unfortuantely, but I was told cherry bourbonic goes on from the live cask this Tuesday. Cheers!

I was there yesterday and picked up my allotment of Strawberry as I thought it was really delicious. It was much more sour than I thought it would be and a HUGE improvement over blueberry. Blueberry was absolutely bad IMO...way too sweet, not very sour.

Sang Noir is great on tap and I haven't opened any bottles as i've heard a lot about the oddbottle tastes...perhaps time will take care of it. Sad I missed out on Cherry Bourbonic!

Them's fightin' words! Blueberry is great!

AFAIK, what's on tap is not the same batch as what was bottled. We did a side-by-side with the bottle samples Ron was pouring at release with the batch on tap and they were dramatically different. The bottles were funky in a way that I've never experienced from a Cascade beer before. FWIW, none of the recent reviews seem to note this, so maybe there was just something off with that bottle, or they just needed to sit for a while longer after the release.

I've only opened one of my bottles so far. I thought it was OK, but that's likely because we opened up a bottle in between Armand'4 Lente and Cantillon St. Lamvinus. Cascade is one of my favorite sour beer breweries, but man, they're a long way from 3F and Cantillon.

Well, yeah, that's stiff competition. But, Blueberry is probably my favorite bottle that Cascade has released lately. And, as pricy as Cascade is, still cheaper than Lente or St. Lam.

Fingers crossed then that they are still around Saturday when I get down there. Thanks for the info.

The sales went much slower than they expected and they're shipping some cases off to businesses.

???? Consideriing that it was just released last Friday, what were they expecting? Not that I'm complaining about Cascade putting a few cases out into distribution, but it just seems kind of odd that they would make a decision like this, based on just a couple of days of slower than expected movement.

It's a bad thing if the beer is available at the barrel room and Racoon Lodge for several weeks rather than several days?

Can't answer that. I just know they decided to send some out for distribution.
