Oh no, instead of getting a 1/2 barrel worth of Zombie Dust every time you go, you can only get a 1/6 barrel worth??

I've seen employees from a store in my area there doing exactly this.

I've also made the mistake of buying 2 cases of ZD only once, and I ended up having to force it down other people's throats because it was falling off faster than I could drink it.

    *I'm not upset about this*

I recently drove from SE Pennsylvania to NW Wisconsin for a fishing trip. On the way, I muled a TON of FFF stuff for the beer lovers back here in Philly, of which there are more than a few. I had to do this, mind you, because FFF pulled out of PA some time ago, to begin with. When I was there, I bought 5 cases of Zombie Dust, 1 case of Gumballhead, 2 cases of Dreadnaught, 2 cases of Arctic Panzerwolf, and a case each of Blackheart and Live a Rich Life. I spent $210 on the small cases, $600 on the Dreadnaught/Arctic Panzerwolf/Blackheart cases, and $180 on Live a Rich Life. I had my cousin with me to make this possible. It made a TON of people back home here happy, and we spent some serious coin both in the pub, and in beer takeout. I'd blow right past Munster and FFF on future trips if they want to give me the finger and tell me my business isn't welcome. You want to keep people from reselling your top shit like Zombie Dust in large quantities, then restrict the sale of that specific product. I have no problems with that. But if you tell me I can only walk out of there with two cases PERIOD...then with all due respect, Three Floyds can go fuck themselves. Figuratively and literally. That's a crap policy, restricting the amount of business a single person can give you. If I can bust my ass to go cross country to buy beer, then the fucking locals can get their ass out of bed to a pub that's local to them, and get their goddam beer if it's important to them to do so. As if us out of towners are shutting them out. What horseshit. They're probably restricting everyone's purchase amounts so they have enough to ship to Europe. I love FFF's beers, but shit like this reminds me there are plenty of other brewers out there making top notch shit, that don't have their heads up their ass.

I personally would not care if they limited people to 2 cases of Zombie Dust. That's not my gripe. My gripe is, that I can't leave with more than two cases of beer TOTAL. God forbid I want to take home a case each of Gumballhead, Dust, and Dreadnaught. I'm traveling half way across the country for some world class beer. I'd like to think if I do that I can make it worth the drive.

Not really. Irritated would be a better word. Like I said, there are other beers to be had. I just think it's a shit practice, and a god awful way to treat everyone outside of an hour's drive from your establishment. Just an opinion. Nothing more.

I'm sure. They only miss you when you're actually in the brew pub.

This is exactly my point Hayden and i 100% agree with you. If the issue is too many folks 6 casing it with zd then limit zd.

Yeah well...occasionally there's an extended period of time where dumb shit like this doesn't occur. I'm over it. Hill Farmstead's closer by, the beer's better, and they don't give a flying fuck how much I purchase. Living all the way out east, it's not like their decision impacts me all that much. It's just the principal. I'm glad I got out there in May before they implemented the new rule restricting the amount of business they're allowed to do with each customer.

Buy local beer. I find the whole "spreading the wealth" and "doing something to eliminate resale" thing commendable. Granted, friends of mine can't bring me back huge amounts of beer from out of the area, but those in those areas likely have a better chance of drinking their local, fresh products. I personally think that's what this should all be about. Those that want to trade and horde can do so with comic books.

Yeah...I mean, I have pictures of guys loading up a station wagon with the rear seat folded down...filling it up front to back, side to side, top to bottom. I have pictures of them wheeling all the cases out on dollies. I mean...they let that happen. If they didn't like it, they didn't have to. I think limiting Zombie Dust to two cases per person is a great idea. The rest of the beers? Stupid. I think the day I was there, from 2 PM until I left at 7....I think I was the only person that bought anything other than Zombie Dust.

At least they were nice to you at the pub lol. Last time me and 2 friends were there and we "only" spend $350+ bucks on food and beer we got crap for service lol but I'm not gonna get into that issue here/now (though I feel like the thread will subsequently focus on this in what I call a lupulin threadshift)

Edit: I hate iPhone autocorrect. I give up on attempting to spell right ad grammar

Drink local is real easy to say when local is FFF or bells or even revolution brewing for that Matt, but what if you, god forbid, live in Utah? Go fuckin move to Utah or Oklahoma and get back to us about drinking local. Meanwhile quit being a xenophobic craft beer prick

I don't disagree with you, but the locals ALWAYS have the chance to drink the shit. It's on tap. It's sold in stores. It's at the brewery 365 days a year. They're local, which means they live within minutes. If you don't get anything, it's because you're either too lazy to go get the shit, or you really don't want it that much to begin with. I buy the shit to drink. It makes no sense, especially with IPA's, to drive 800 or so miles out there....buy a ton of IPA's, spend time out there, drive back, then try to trade it all. I just want to drink the shit. The one trip I get to make out there a year is usually my fix for the year. You can't really "hoard" IPA's...they just don't last long enough.

What actions like that have they taken? There are limits on DL of 4 bottles, this year there were a large number of people that got BA bottles, they had sudden releases of DLD tickets to take care of their locals......all of this is great. The only thing the have done to annoy me before today was to serve me a BA Black Sun earlier this year. It tasted like paint.

I will go there 20% of the number of times I would normally go there due to the case limitations. The only reasons that I buy 6 cases when I go are because it is a 6hr round trip in the car and because I buy beer for friends. Those 6pks fly out of my fridge, especially if we have guests. Get off your high horse by generalizing and telling people they have a problem for buying more than 2 cases at one time. :grimacing:

I completely understand why the people in the Chicago area don't care about the limitations. I wouldn't care either if they were within 1.5hrs from my home. I'd also buy less than 6 cases for myself and friends when I go.

In the end, if this is just a means for them to distribute Zombie Dust to Indianapolis, I'll turn a complete 180 and suddenly not care about this anymore.

Then come find a guy like me (or many other Chicago/Indiana locals) who would likely grab their limit for you to take home and enjoy out East.

I'll give you that.... But I was referring to a period of time where a brewer doesn't make a ******ed decision that alienates a portion of its fanbase.
