Cool. You bring your locals. I'll bring some OK locals.

Mighty nice of you. If I'm ever in the area, I'll look you up. I'll pick up your tab for the evening.

I'll give you that too. LOL But most of it doesn't impact ME. Because...well...in this particular instance, my own situation is all I care about.

I'll personally send you a truck load if you can get them to bottle date it

I'll say that every experience at FFF has been great for me. Every experience.

People (especially locals) will continue to buy enough FFF beer to cover the "lost" sales. Their 6pks will continue to fly off the shelves in Indy. Although it may seem like a bonehead decision, the 80% dropoff of claaark13's trips to FFF will only be missed by the guys receiving my tips at the bar, not the brewery as a whole. The beer that claaark13 was going to buy will be bought by others. If FFF were White Birch, this may be a different story. But, FFF is RR/Bruery/HF/etc and they will sell everything they put into a bottle, even if they reduce the incentive for out-of-towners to make the trip to buy some cases.

FFF has to do things just to piss people off occasionally to keep their "Metal as F*CK" street cred

This is a great strategy to increase business to their brewpub. Instead of 1 person making the trip and bringing beer back for their friends, they will have to bring their friends with them.

FFF has already established that they are strictly a business. They aren't trying to make you happy. They aren't trying to change the world. They want to make money. And bringing in more customers with a (slightly) smaller average sale will do that.

On the one hand this is understandable, and on the other, it is a pain in the ass. I am disabled, so driving there is hard enough when I could probably use some more beer friends near me up for road trips. Whenever I would go I had to buy whatever I could get. It wouldn't be so bad if they had decent beer stores near there. Normally I buy 3 Floyds in Wisconsin because their stuff is more reasonable priced there than Chicago. I just wish there was a comparable brewery somewhere in the Illinois area that everyone was so in love with so that maybe 3 Floyds wasn't the top game in town. They have a lot going for them more than most breweries. Seemingly infinite demand, very limited supply, good marketing, and just a cool factor by incorporating their love of metal music into their brewpub and labeling, which may just be cool to me. There's many good breweries in the Chicago area, but if you just look at the BA ratings, I can't think of one other Midwest brewery that has as many beers consistently rated as high as 3 Floyds. It wouldn't surprise me if monks will be running the place soon and you can only buy their beer on a Tuesday and you have to call ahead to make an appointment. Personally speaking, if it were me in charge of distribution (I know I am not), I'd rather keep my core demographic of drinkers happy. By that I mean I'd want stores nearest the brewery saturated with my product, especially if it is flying out the door, than to cater to someone in New York, or Sweden. I just hate what Goose has done in terms of expanding their distribution to the point that you can hardly get any of their specialty beers because they have to supply the East and West Coast. I can't score a 4 pack of BCS where I would see cases in stores only a couple year ago. Anyway, the 2 case deal blows for me, but whenever they make an announcement, doesn't it always blow for someone? They are like a dude trying to make his wife happy, they can try, but do they ever truly succeed? Not often.

I agree entirely. Since they can't make enough ZD to even distribute, limit that beer to 2 cases. But it's ridiculous to limit your entire purchase to 2 cases. It's definitely not a policy in the interest of their best economic sense. Why if someone wants to buy 20 cases and I have 20 cases available should I not sell to that guy? Is it my business to sell beer or worry about the next guy's happiness factor. If that guy wants my beer, he'll get up a little earlier and make sure he gets there when I open. Why is it some douche customer complains and they just change everything they do? What's next, a 6 pack limit? 3 Floyds should get into government if they just want to set limits and mandates, but if you are truly a business, then sell your product without worrying you are pleasing everyone, because you never will.

Where the fuck are you shopping at? I can give you several places ff the top of my head where 3 Floyds doesn't sit around and go "stale".

Try being a regular at a few places, even. Social interaction with your local beer guy is not something to be feared.

They're getting beer into more people's hands. They didn't say you can't buy it, nor did they give you the finger. I also missed the part where you are entitled to as much as you want. Having been there multiple times and seen every one of their case beers (and bombers) sell out in a day, I can assure you that it's not just ZD that gets ***** and pillaged on the regular, it's everything. So it's only two cases now...guess what? You could still make a ton of people happy with that.

    Good. Lord.

It's not a sense of entitlement. There's not another business out there I frequent that tells me to take my money and leave. If you frequent anywhere else with that philosophy, please enlighten me. But like I said, it's no real biggie as it doesn't impact me on any grand level. I've got plenty of other brewers who will take all the money I'll give them. What a thought. Can you imagine???

I'll give my business to places that can afford to give me the business I want to give them, instead of rationing their shit WWII style. God forbid the people that live next door can't get a case at the brewery for the week because someone from out of town that never has the privilege of buying the stuff wanted to stock up for a month's drinking...since that's what the IPA's realistically last for at their peak.

If there is plenty of other brewers making top notch shit, why do you make the trek to get 3 floyds brews? And if you read the article about FFF expanding to Europe you would realize they are planning on opening up a brewpub not shipping beer out to Europe. Three floyds doesnt give a shit about what you spend there. So quit acting like some high rolling douche bag.
