I was backpacking near Aspen and hit up the liquor store there on the way home on Saturday. I'm guessing that one doesn't get hit for Casey often as there were a lot of East Bank, Saison, and Oak Theory on the shelf with no limit.

I still need to go to one of these releases soon to try a Fruitstand beer or two, but it sure is nice to have a decent stock of these three at least.

Ha, I thought you looked familiar, you were in on our box of loons a few years ago and we met up downtown to exchange

I'll be visiting Breckenridge later this month through Aug 1st. Is that the date of the Aug release? If I drove out to Glenwood later in the day on the 1st would there still be stuff available? Do they stay open all day on release dates? Are there stores closer to Breck that I can find some of this stuff. I likely will not be able to drive out there, so most of this may just be wishful thinking...

    Yes

If I drove out to Glenwood later in the day on the 1st would there still be stuff available?

Most likely, yes. Maybe not low-limit bottles, but it's still very possible you'd get a full allocation.

Do they stay open all day on release dates?

Release days are typically 11 am to 4 pm.

Are there stores closer to Breck that I can find some of this stuff?

Someone else would be able to answer this better than I can.

Very cool. Aspen Brewing is doing some great things, too. Their saison is one of the best "normal" ones in the country.
More Low End and DH Oak Theory is always a good thing. Not sure if we'll make this one, but I'm not ruling it out.

I will 100% be there for the August release, it's been too long since I made it up and it's the month of my birth so I have to do it big.

mmm...didn't get to try BLC at the July release (was too busy drinking all the Cut and otherwise). Just cracked my first bottle of this release, delish and SOOOO funky :grinning:

Tour de Aspen Valley - swing by Casey's for his version and then up to Aspen Brewing for a similar, yet different version, too and out through Independence Pass. Definitely makes for a nice Saturday loop through the valley for two versions of the Biere de Garde limited release.

From the August event's facebook.. really curious/excited to see his version of a biere de garde. Glad to see that the limits will accommodate over 150 (wasn't the June release ~100?) Given that I'll most likely camp on Independence Pass, the @WillisBrown "Tour de Aspen Valley" will probably be in my future as well....

    Available to go:

Low End - 5 bottle limit $15- Compared to the 1st blend, this batch is softer and more round, a touch more hoppy. Gun to my head, I prefer this batch. It's hard to say though.

Biere de Garde - 2 bottle limit $18 - Our Collaboration with Aspen Brewing Company. They brewed a super malty wort that we split. We used our farmhouse culture to ferment this. The result is basically what you'd expect. Rich and malty but dry, more acidic than any farmhouse we've done. I'm really excited about this.

Cherry Fruit Stand Montmorency - 1 bottle limit $18 - You've had this before, but this blend, as well as the next listed, are the best Fruit Stand beers we've done. 1.5 pounds per gallon.

Blackberry Fruit Stand - 3 bottle limit $20 - We found some frozen blackberries from our same grower and decided to do a large blend with our favorite barrels. 1.4 pounds fruit per gallon. More fruit than previous blends for sure.

Dry Hop Oak Theory Amarillo - 1 bottle limit $24 - The wait is over! This blend has been conditioning for over 3 months and is tasting super dank and funky.

All prices include tax. We have enough beer for over 150 people at these limits. There is no need to line up early or rush. Have fun up here in our valley! Come later in the day! This is a first come, first served release.

After Atrial this past weekend I'm afraid of any release, especially one that says come later in the day, lol. I'll be there early enjoying the fine mountain air and getting to meet some cool people.

If they didn't sell out at the July Anny release with all the people from out of state showing up I don't think you'll have trouble with this one.

How representative was the July 4th release exactly? I know it pulled in a fair number of tourists, but did it weed a lot of people out due to the holiday, too? We're (hopefully) going up for this one and just trying to gauge when I'm going to have to wake up :stuck_out_tongue:

That had the most people ever at a release. It did weed out some locals like myself but I don't think 150 people have ever showed up for one before that.

Based on rough numbers of how much beer he has available to satisfy "x" number of people, I believe the turnout was roughly double in July compared to usual.

EDIT: In the past, he has always set limits to accomidate 100-150 people. In July, he set the limits to accomidate at least 250.
