No Cut could potentially thin out people from out of state that are only driving in to get waelz.

If Apricot releases over the long Labor Day weekend, that is going to be madness.

How about pours in the taproom? Do they generally run out of anything by the end of the day or within a certain time-frame? Excluding the 4th of July since that seemed to be an anomaly.

Stuff will run out. Obviously the more popular stuff like Cuts and Fruit Stand. I would think with the low bottle count of the Biere de Garde there might not be much for tasting.

All speculation though. It depends on how much is available and how many people are there. I usually drive up and back so I don't hang out too long or drink too much with the drive a head of me.

If Troy pulls Fruit Stands from his cellar, those will kick really quickly.

Nice. Hopefully that translates to not having to wake up like it's a weekday. I don't really care about stocking up on the super rare stuff and don't have time for the 4PM stuff either. I think the plan is to get there at 8 or 9 and grab our bottles and a couple pours before heading back.

The best way to do these releases is to show up early to get your bottles and pours then head out to lunch and come back later in the afternoon. The crowd thins out a lot and you're able to actually enjoy everything instead of feeling rushed and cramped.

I don't think Apricot Cut will be out for Labor Day, but Sweet Cherry Cut and likely a version of Apricot Fruit Stand will be released then.

We were able to try The Cut: Apricot yesterday afternoon shortly before closing - there were only about 7 of us left up there so Troy pulled two bottles out to open. They were only the slightest bit carbed, practically still having only been bottled 5 days ago, but I would have bought them all right there on the spot regardless it was that good. Incredibly bright apricot aroma with big oak and funk and the flavor was straight macerated apricot and skins. Get ready for one of the best Apricot beers you will ever have. Troy said probably September as long as they carb up nicely and are still tasting as good, same deal with Bing Cut and the new Sweet Cherry Family Reserve (basically a double Fruit Stand with 2.5lbs of fruit per gallon - we also tasted this and it is drinking incredible). There could potentially be 7 different beers available in September.

You lucky son of a gun... ha ha.

Thanks for the good info. I asked Troy yesterday about The Cut Apricot and he said it will live up to the hype and then some. He also said it looks good for 2 cuts next month. Sounds like he is also close to tracking down peaches for the Side Project collaboration, and he said, with a smile, that he wouldn't be out-peached by the SP version.

One of these days I'm going to try and stick around 'til the end. No clue if anyone else was digging it, but I love the Biere de Garde. I know most people love the fruited beers, but that one does it for me.

The Beire de Garde was fantastic IMO, went back up and bought more bottles in fact. It's easily the most malt-forward thing ever to come from Troy, and I dig it. So much biscuit/toast/caramel malt with just the right amount of tartness/acidity and oak. Absolutely delicious.

So a potential combination of the Apricot (arguably most anticipated) Cut, Bing Cut, and the premier release of the Family Reserve series and all on a holiday weekend? Holy crap. That release is going to be completely nuts. Where is my sleeping bag...

I believe it's Family Preserve. The bottle had an FP on the cork.

What blast, we met some really cool people in line as well as getting bottles and pours. Great scenery, the beer was on point and fantastic and I know it was considered a "slow" release, but it was very down to earth, fast moving and organized. Thanks for the great hospitality and it was a pleasure meeting many of you.
