How do the releases work? Is it ticketed or old-fashioned wait in line? I'm from California, so I don't want to purchase ticket, get there, and have nothing.

No tickets. As long as you show up a few hours before they open you should be able to get everything you want.

In the past, Troy has handed out tickets guaranteeing the first 100 or so people in line a full allotment of the beers for sale. The August release was a bit slower, so he didn't have to. I'm guessing 5-7 fruited Casey beers will bring out a good crowd once again, so I'd recommend getting there at least 3 hours early. Bring a camping chair, or send me a message and I can bring a couple of chairs for you.

Is it possible to camp out over night? >_>

I don't want to waste money on hotel if I'm leaving early to wait in line.

You could "camp" in your car but it's not like you can bust out a tent and start a campfire. Although, there are plenty of places to camp around Glenwood Springs.

Yea, do it right. Have camped near Dotsero and in the national forest off the highway. Both involved absolutely zero planning, just finding a road that looked like it led somewhere. Both places were absolutely beautiful and only about 30 minutes from Casey. Really hard to go wrong, just have a car that won't die on dirt roads (renter's insurance!).

Holy crap...three hours? Planned on making a visit sometime this year so that's good to know. Do folks bring coolers with...water...in addition to the camping chairs? If you said four or five hours maybe we could weed some folks out

No bottle share/boozing is allowed. You can definitely bring some chairs and water though.

You might be able to show up around 11AM and still get your beers, but it's different every time. With the line up of fruited beers being released in September, I would bet there will be a lot of people there. If Troy releases the two Cuts as well, it will be a big crowd.

Damn, there's already 181 people RSVP'd and that number keeps going up. With all these fruited beers getting released and it being Labor Day weekend it'll be packed. I'm gonna do my usual show up early > grab bottles and a few pours > leave for lunch > come back later in the day to hang out by the river.

This will be my first time going (September) and never had any brews by Casey BB. I'm sure it will be worth it considering the info on this thread....buuuuuut...Have to talk the wife into waiting in line for beer...this should go over well! Maybe I could send her off to a spa for the morning that has a masseuse named Hans with big hands? If there is anyone in a similar situation and can recommend a spa or something else...help!?

    Just joking about Hans...Hans.

The Glenwood Springs Lodge has a pool and spa. It's downtown near a bunch of shops and stuff that she could check out.

There were a few that I was trying to decide on and that was one of them (Tripadvisor). Sounds pretty cool, and that's probably the one I'll go with. Thanks for the help!

Their only open the first Saturday of each month, correct?

I'm gonna be in Breck for a wedding this weekend and would've loved to take my girlfriend there. She digs sours, though I don't, but from the sounds of it- I could score some serious points by introducing her to this spot!

That's correct. But you might be able to find some Casey beers at Basecamp Liquors in Frisco.
