I saw that but how much could you lower the limits then they were? Below are the limits on Saturday. East Bank had a limit of 4 (highest bottle limit) but that was still available at the end and stores got allocations so no need to lower that. Maybe lower Cherry and Oak Theory to 2 bottles. If things are a limit of 1 bottle are less people going to drive up? Now any beers with lower the limit will also be set aside for sale at the bar. So are more people going to get to buy the beer to go?

I just can't see how many more people would have got bottles if both things were implemented

East Bank (new blend) ($16) - 4 bottles per person
Cherry Fruit Stand - ($18) - 3 bottles per person
Peach Fruit Stand - ($18) - 1 bottle per person
    Oak Theory - ($22) - 3 bottles per person
Dry Hopped Oak Theory - ($24) - 1 bottle per person
Advanced Oak Theory - ($24) - 2 bottles per person

That's a fair comment, but I think the Oak Theory beers have been over a year in the making and there's not a lot of fruit being harvested right now. The point is they can't just make more beer for the next release. And if the turnout for the next release is low, they can always increase the limits day of. What would you have them do? Limited beers are limited.

My point was, the limits weren't that high and lowering them and adding more beer to the bar so it lasts all day isn't going to let any more people get bottles to go which was one of the stated goals.

I'd just keep it the same and go back to the banks to get more money to quadruple in size next year. Can't really do anything different about the harvests, only fermentation time. Hence why I'm sure all the lambic producers only release one/two beers each season, instead of all the fruited lambics at once.

Selling out of beer is a good problem to have, and the limits, I agree are reasonable. If he doesn't want to make more beers, I'd suggest he just space them out more. IMO, that's why this release was so popular was that there were 6 bottles available. I'm sure the turnout would be less if he did 2 beers per month, than 6 at a time.

Has anyone heard a firm date for April? Is Troy gonna go back to first Saturday or stay with the 2nd?

Did folks notice the barrel sign at the end of the bar, which announced The Cut Blackberry for next month? That's enough to get me on the road to Glenwood in April.

I think the second weekend release was a special case due to a personal schedule conflict. As far as I've heard all the releases will be the first weekend of the month.

So Easter Weekend and the same day as Strong Ale Fest?

Hmm. Forgot about Easter. Boy, I hope he slips the release another week since I'm going to Strong Ale Fest.

I'd venture a guess to say it will return to the 1st Saturday since this release was simply to account for family.

    Definitely noticed and definitely excited.

This is exactly why I am hoping he doesn't push it back. I'm hoping Strong Ale Fest will cut down on the crowd...

To me, him bumping the limits down points to them planning on a huge turnout again (i.e. bumping it back a week). I'd imagine Strong Ale Fest and Easter would shrink the turnout just slightly. Who really knows though but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Someone made a comment on Casey's last facebook post saying "April 4 is your next release right? Can't wait!", this post was "liked" by Casey... probably reading too much into it, but I'd be willing to bet that's the date fellas...

Looks like The Cut: Blackberry may or may not be ready, but at least there will be some Oak Theory

Wish I could make the 4/4 release, but that's the wife's birthday. I'm determined to make the next one, though. I still haven't made the Casey trek yet.

Happened to be heading through Glenwood en route to Moab and hit the release - weather was perfect, but man, the line was a lot longer than expected...not that it wasn't worth it, but word has definitely gotten out...

Finally got to try some Casey after finding a couple bottles of East Bank after skiing. Dangit, I REALLY did not want to get involved in all of this hype... but that beer is just world class. Sorry guys but you'll have to deal with one more person in line next release.

If anyone is still looking, I stopped by Four Dogs in El Jebel/Basalt yesterday, and they had Oak Theory, Cherry Fruit Stand and East Bank. Pretty awesome!

Troy talks about making the limits smaller so more people can get the beer that wait in line but then they are available at a store?????

So, you're annoyed someone can try the beer in a store?
