Do you think it could have anything to do with artificially inflating exclusivity and rarity rather than promoting genuine beer advocacy?

Who fucking cares? There are always gonna be people saying things that are inaccurate on the Internet. Being all high and mighty judge of forums just makes it worse. FFS just chill out and have a beer. If Casey thinks Boulder beer is talking out their ass then let them deal with it, after all *it is* his business.

Back on the topic of Casey, if you were going to get 3 bottles of Casey to introduce someone to the Brewery, which 3? I was thinking a Fruit Stand, Dry-hopped Saison, and a Cut - or maybe a CFP.

Glad we're back on topic. Yeah I'd definitely include Oak Theory or a version of a Cut. For me it be:
    1. OT/Cut
    2. Fruit Stand/CFP (cherry or peach)
    3. DH Saison (or I'd personally include BdG but most prefer the saison I think)

Fair enough. I went too far. Not sure why that got stuck in my craw so much; probably had more to do with the politics of who carries what being a big deal than the particular announcement.

Sorry North Boulder Liquor - I hope your Casey arrangement goes well and that you keep getting the good stuff.

Personally, I'd go with a normal Saison, a fruit stand (Blackberry is my fave) and a Cherry Cut (Red Blend, Danube, or Balaton).
I love Oak Theory to death, but I don't think we've gotten one of those lately...have we? I used to have a decent stock of them, but I'm running low at the moment.
Biere De Garde might be my favorite Casey not named Supreme Clientele, but I dunno if it's everyone's jam.

I'd go with a Dry-Hopped Saison, White Grape Fruit Stand (Viognier, Chardonnay, or Riesling), and a Blackberry Cut.

    1) Dry-hopped Saison
    2) Blackberry Fruit Stand
    3) Peach or Nectarine CFP or Elephant Heart Plum Cut

    1) East Bank 2) East Bank 3) East Bank

    I'm kidding...sort of. Let's try that again.

    1) 1/16 East Bank - Munich malts doing work
    2) Blackberry or Riesling Fruit Stand - Two of the best showcases of the saison base with some great fruit accents
    3) Balaton Cut (B1 or B3) - One of Troy's best cuts and a great marriage of fruit and funk

Lol he was asking what 3 to introduce someone to Casey, not your favorites. Your list is definitely not obtainable for most people, especially as a casual introduction to the brewery. That being said, nice picks lol

All three of those are obtainable...by way of trading with me...but yes, some good choices! And they wouldn't be moved easily :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha fair. Well those are the beers thay I would share with a friend who wanted to get into Casey but I get your point. I feel like there's a good amount of that East Bank around in people's cellars but yeah those other two might be tougher to land.

I saw that Grapevine is selling Brett Loves Simcoe and Hop Slope right now. What is Hop Slope based on?

My understanding is that it is Saison brewed at Upslope and dry hopped with Galaxy and Nelson.

"This hoppy farmhouse ale was brewed with our friends at Upslope in Boulder and then brought back to our cellar for fermentation with our farmhouse culture in oak barrels for about 6 months. We then copiously dry hopped it with Nelson and Galaxy hops prior to bottle conditioning."

It is not Saison base, it's unique. It was modeled after Hop Mess, but as a collab this time.

If you like hoppy sours Hop Slope is the perfect blend in my opinion. A little sour but the hops just make it so refreshing and nice to drink. I wish I could afford to have a bottle of this every weekend.

Good to know. Thanks for clarifying.

Sounds awesome. Picked some up from North Boulder Liquor last week and was waiting for a sunny day like tomorrow to uncork it. Cheers!

Sounds perfect, I've always thought that Casey's hoppy beers were unique and very tasty. The dry-hopped wild beer is kind of underrated in general. I can't remember the name of it, but Black Project had a dry-hopped wild beer that was outstanding. It was either Jumpseat or Ejector with mosaic, citra, and ?

Ejector is the double dry hopped version of Jumpseat from BP. Agreed both of those were very nice if you liked them Hop Slope was similar but the Galaxy/Nelson combo is more bright, light hay, lemon vs the citra/mosaic combo that I think is a little more earthy/dank.

And relating back to our conversation earlier about biere de garde and its fruited brethren:
