What’s the price point on these bottles? Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the 750ml format for an IPA.

I guess the event details were misleading. The beer is a modified Superpower IPA base, mixed fermentation with Casey's cultures in Glenwood Springs, matured on Colorado peaches and then dry-hopped. The wort was brewed twice in May 2017. It's definitely not an IPA. Pricing will be similar to The Cut

And don't forget the Elephant Heart Plum 10/19/17. Picked that up on my last trip up a few weeks ago. I'm not usually crazy about Plum, but this is like having a fresh July plum in your mouth--delicious! I was a bit put off by the "little white labels" at first, makes trying to Untappd while you have spotty service in Glenwood Canyon quite a bother, but having tried the different iterations with different batches of fruit plus the time factor, I get it and appreciate it. It's not as though there is some static thing that is "Plum Cut," each iteration is different. I wasn't that wild about the the Santa Rosa, but the Elephant Heart blew me away. Makes trading for Casey tricky, but makes drinking it an adventure! They post the menu of the bottles that are for sale (the new stuff) on IG/FB in advance of each tasting weekend. Drinking a 6/27/2017 Low End dry hopped with Colorado Cascade while I type this. . .

    !
Just realized the Elephant Heart is a CFP not a Cut, oops, this is what happens even when you're drinking at the "low end," lol! CFP (Casey Family Preserves) are double Fruit Stands; The Cuts are Oak Theory plus fruit. I don't know how important this distinction will be as they now seem to be moving toward more "mixes" or "banks" using East Bank as the base (which is great EXCEPT that it means less East Bank for sale!)

On Untappd it's easy to log the correct beer/ batch if you aren't lazy and take the time to type the name in and look for it.. All the batches are there.

    Hi

I am wondering what the shelf life of a Cut or FS is if stored properly.

I have a few bottles from 2015. Mu guess is that most of the fruit would have faded at this point but still very drinkable.

    Is that the general consensus?

    Thanks in advance

Shelf life is as long as you can stand to not open them. Apricot FS remains perfection every time I open a bottle and that's from summer of '15. I have never had fruit fade in a Casey bottle, but you will definitely notice an increase in funk and complexity. I still have a a Cab Sauc Fruit Stand which was bottled 10/28/2014 and I am in no rush to open it.

Troy uses fruit at such a ridiculously high rate (1.5 to 2 pounds per gallon for Fruit Stands and 4+ pounds per gallon for CFPs and Cuts) that you’re really not going to see the fruit fade. The fruit flavors might change over time, and there will also be changes imparted from the bacteria over time as mentioned above.

Has any one cracked a bottle of Elephant Berry? I'm really curious about the taste. I do have my own bottle coming but it will probably be a few months before I open it.

Wanted to give everyone a little more details. The pricing is in the CFP range. Got a few more cases than anticipated, so that's about 20 more people that we'll have enough bottles for, assuming everyone buys the full limit of 2. We'll also have Excessive Recessive on draft as well.

I have a two week old at home, so I won't be making it up to Casey anytime soon. If anyone is going in the next week or two and could help me with pick-ups it would be much appreciated. Should be less than a case of beer.

EDIT: Should have noted I'm in Highlands Ranch, but could meet-up anywhere around Denver.

I'm sure it's been asked a bunch but I'd rather not search through every page of this thread. Any recommendations on bottle shops in the Golden/Denver area where I can find Casey bottles? Thanks!

Anyone heard when they Anniversary party is happening this year? My wife and I are going to be in Colorado the last week of June and, based on last years dates, that might time out perfectly with our visit.
