I wonder if the same bottles will be available to go at this place as the original location? I wonder what "mid-summer" means? And in regard to the quote below from that article, how can you be both prolific *and* lacking in accessibility?

One of the country’s most prolific sour ale producers, Casey Brewing and Blending is about to become a little more accessible.

Based upon what I've picked up in the Casey FB groups, it sounds like member bottle pick ups and tours will continue at the old location. The entire back 1/2 of that building is basically full of bottles and there are something like 300+ EF members now. It's a borderline full time job just managing it. They're absolutely cranking out new bottles, too.

Yet if a random joe wants to swing by and buy a bottle or two on a Tuesday, that's not an option. The goal of the new place is to provide people a way to try and buy the beers without doing the ticket and tour thing. That along with the new beers, guest taps, and draft versions of some of their classics, too. There aren't many Casey kegs out there, but there are a few.

Usually a big release time for them. Anniversary party I believe

Yeah, the Casey Anniversary tends to be in early July. They haven't said anything about it that I'm aware of. Might be a member's thing or it might be open to the public. I think they've done both.

Unrelated, their Apricot Vanilla FB might be the most unique beer I've had in years. It's available in small amounts (or at least it was) for ticketholders. Even EF members only got one bottle. I really, really like it.

It is subtitle, but the statement above makes sense to me. Casey’s Brewing & Blending can be a prolific producer (making numerous sour ales) and also be “less accessible,” due to being located in Glenwood Springs with very few retail accounts in the Front Range. Depending on weather and traffic, Glenwood can be a nice leisurely drive from the Denver Metro to a near impossible white knuckled “experience” and you can experience both of those things in the same trip.

The drive to Glenwood ranges from an easy 2:15 trip to a white-knuckle all-day slog filled with wrecks and ice. I generally avoid that trip between December and March.

Right this instant is about as good as it gets, though. There's no ski traffic left and hiking weather hasn't kicked in yet. My wife and I went up on Friday and it couldn't have been nicer. Do a weekday tour if you can. Traffic on a Friday morning is about 1/4 of what it is on Saturday.

Living here, it's sometimes tough for me to tell how well known Casey is outside of the state. Most of the tours are filled with people from out of state. Whenever I travel, Casey's beers are among the first ones people ask about. For a while it was nothing but a bunch of Denver people raising hell and fighting over frisbees in his parking lot.

If anybody is headed up before the end of the month and wouldn't mind helping another EF member out please let me know. I just have two bottles to pick-up and I am not going to make it up.

So...did anyone else get an EF invite today? I thought e mails were going out in early December.

I know of at least two people who did.

Right now Casey's beers have never been better. We've never seen more variety either. Even the whole process of ticketing and picking up has smoothed out. The new members are in for a treat.

Got an email today to join the EF and was wondering how hard it is to find a proxy. Are there a number of people in the FB group that are willing pick up and ship bottles?

There should be a few. I saw enough people complaining about the Glenwood Springs FedEx. They're now giving folks a chance to buy special bottles for picking up more than 24 bottles in total, so that has motivated more people.

New member to the beer club here. I've had a few Casey beers but am pretty new to their offerings. Are there any fan favorites that I should keep an eye out for with the 2020 membership?

On the fruit side of things, I think you'll find a lot of people favor either the stone fruits (peach, nectarine, apricot) or the berries and cherries. I like the berries more, although the apricot blends are killer fresh.
I'm a huge fan of anything raspberry and blackberry. For cherry varieties, balaton and danube do it for me.
Of the base beers, anything and everything East Bank = win.

I've seen a lot of vanilla blends on their instagram. Does this work well or stick with the standard fruit blends?

Those are mostly new. He added a little vanilla to an early raspberry/cherry blend a couple years ago and I think it was well received. The only one I've had so far is vanilla/apricot FB, from earlier this year. I thought it was fantastic. It's along the lines of what Cantillon did with Magic Lambic if you had a chance to try that one. Nothing huge up front, but a creamy warmth on the back end.
I haven't had anything from the last 6 weeks and it seems like that's when they rolled out a bunch. I have VERY high hopes for Vanilla Jammy. I should have mine next week, so I guess I'll find out.

All the vanilla has really done is add a nice creaminess to the mouthfeel IMO. Absolutely love it and hopes he keeps them coming. Raspberry Vanilla CFP will be delicious.

I have had magic lambic so great to know the level of vanilla in the Casey beers. Thanks for all the info guys!
