What is the best way to pour beer from a firkin? Does the firkin need to be kept cool itself? Excuse me if I'm totally naive on this subject. I've had cask ales at different brew pubs, etc, and am interested in adding it to my bar. Any links or help would be much appreciated.
The latest BYO Magazine has an amazing article on homebrewing cask ales. I suggest picking it up or waiting until they update their site with the latest issue and you may get lucky and have them post that article on their site.
"The Session" on the Brewing Network just did a show on cask ales. You could download the podcast but be prepared for a ton of off topic jokes and stuff. The interview was with ___ who sells cask equipment in the US and is based in PA. Pretty informative regarding the production and serving of cask ale.
