Cask and Nitro

    Cask and nitro are two totally different animals. Nitro isn't (or shouldn't be) a replacement for cask.

    That said, despite the protestations on this site, there must be a market growing for nitro, because major breweries are offering more and more of it these days -- Deschutes, Founders, Oskar Blues, and so on, all with specialty nitro programs, both keg and can (or bottles, like Left Hand). I've liked some stuff on nitro, rather disliked others. I'm just surprised at the staunch opposition to nitro, even when it's not being done to mimic cask (as Guinness, however failingly).

    Drats, I was actually there for the first time on Friday, but they hadn't tapped that one yet. I did enjoy the Southern English Brown they had on cask. It wasn't bubbly but it actually did have a sizeable head and was very smooth.
