I know this is pretty Ontario-centric, but since there are so many beers from across Canada being shipped in it might be interesting for everyone. The Cask Days 2012 beer list: http://caskdays.com/brews Plus, with things like an American Sour Ale with Brussel sprouts + Smoked Meat, it should be something that we can all have a gawk at. Any thoughts on beers not to be missed? Any to be avoided at all costs? What would be your dream team? I'm trying to line up my choices!
i remember the first cask day i was at. there was a Jack Daniels and Coke beer and a PB&J beer. this year's list seems quite tame.
I dunno about the other brewers, but we sent multiple casks and have an takeover event going on the 25th http://caskdays.com/caskdays_2012_halfpints.png The Ludicrous was dryhopped with citra and tasted like hop juice when it left here. The Scrapper got Sorachi Ace. We've done Mole Stouts before and this time used Mexican Chocolate, an assortment of dried peppers, roasted pumpkin seeds and spices as well. The Hibiscus St. James also was done up with some fresh Hawaiian ginger, the guys at the Carribean Grocery here in Winnipeg said it sounded like we were making a beer like a special Christmas drink they have out in that neck of the woods. I won't be there, but Nicole, Zach and Kevin will. So it's not just the Smoktoberfest that we sent for the actual Cask Days event that will be available. Possibly other events will have other brewer's beer at them as well. I think TDD was doing the same type of thing. http://brewersbackyard.com/brewers-backyard-beers-at-cask-days-announced/ We were also asked to send our Punk N' Fest for the event above at the same time.
i've visiting Nicole et al. at Volo. might go to the Backyard, since i live 25 min walking distance away. lots of drinking in a short span. dangerous.
