I recently picked up a used 10 gallon stainless steel keg and I want to try and cask ferment a beer. Does one have to fill the keg with a ten gallon batch or can it be used for smaller five gallon batches? I don’t see an issue in my opinion because it would give the beer more head space for co2 build up? Or is it to much air space?
    Thoughts......?

If you are just using the keg as the primary then the wort does not care. So long as you have enough headspace for Krausen .

What you are describing does not appear to have anything to do with cask though.
    Cheers
