Staying in the Spring area for a week. I don't suppose any place down this way does cask? Also looking for recommendations for “don’t miss” breweries.
They haven't done any since Covid though. Its just the outdoor restaurant beer garden that is open, I would still go cause its a great spot to be outside. Holler hasn't done any in a long time, Hay Merchant might be the only option in town right now to get cask, and The Gingerman has yet to reopen since July last year. Cask beer in Houston is all but dead Edit: Oh wait, New Magnolia has a few cask engines, I forgot about them. Had the Toups Dark Mild on cask (RIP David) which was excellent, but that was a while ago. Don't know if they have been keeping up with casks either but worth a look. I generally have been unimpressed with some of their beers, but this one was spot on.
Even if they don’t have cask, I’ve been a fan of St. A for a long time. Don’t live near them so never been on site, but I like their beer.
Being from Mass, maybe a lot of offerings from TX that you’ve never had? even if a brewery visit isn’t available probably still some good beer you can pick up. what styles do you enjoy?
Holler has a Best Bitter on cask right now, actually. Not sure how long it lasts. Probably worth calling ahead to confirm.
Yeah, just saw Holler has Margaret Thatcher on cask now, I'm going to head over there sometime today. It will at least last the weekend.
sweet, going to head there today, picking up my daughter at the airport and need a place to chill for a few hours.
Probably a safe bet. I can't imagine there are too many places were low ABV, traditional English beers blow quickly.
