It seems like they put out a lot of interesting brews, especially for events and what not but I rarely see them on tapp anywhere.

Anyone know what their deal is or where you can find their beers on tap?

Twenty-Two over by Common market always has catawba valley on tap. They always seem to get all of their specialty stuff, like their sours, barleywine, pb&j an so on. Also, Revolution pizza seems to usually have some catawba valley on tap, although not sure if they currently do.

damn Jay, you beat me to it!

Their three canned offerings see a bit farther distribution (Charlotte, Hickory, Asheville), but the area still is limited to western North Carolina. Like the folks said before me, you'll happen upon some of their smaller batch wild/sour beers on draft more often in Charlotte and Hickory. They want to add a second brewing facility in Asheville and are currently looking for a space. They already have the equipment.

Can't add much, other than last time I was in Ashville, was pretty much the start of the Craft Beer week, and I was in Bruisin' Ales picking up some random local stuff, and asked about some, a guy in the store said try the Catawba Valley Fire Water IPA.. It's canned.. I said, toss one up there, I'll try it out..

He insisted on buying it, wouldn't let me pay for it. Ended up drinking it outside in the parking lot since it was cold already, and damn it's a good IPA.

Turns out, it was one of the owners of Catawba... Good on him for the beer, I enjoyed it for sure!!

You are guaranteed to see some at Peabody's, I used to drive down to pick up cases of growlers to bring back up to the shop (Thank God they deliver now!)! We usually have one or two of their crazy offerings in a growler, most of the regular stuff in a growler, all three cans, kegs, and pretty much anything we can fit in the shop from them! Great folks and great brews! Remember with these guys they are still super small and taking a trip down to the brewery is sure to impress you that they are as far outstretched as they are, and sure to get you a little buzz as well as they have huge tasting flights! Support these guys whenever you can, as they should for sure be on any NC beer geeks radar for up and coming breweries!
