I'm traveling to Cavan, Ireland for a couple weeks for work. I've only been to Ireland once before and not to this area. Anything worth checking out??

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news; but Cavan has been overlooked in the recent upward trend in Microbrewed beer in Ireland. Looks like pints of Guinness and other macro brews for you Sir! Plenty of craft beer options in Cork, Galway and Dublin cities. Check out Beoir.org website and the "Directory" for listings. Sláinte

I'm from cavan, it has been a while since I drank in the town (which is a nice town) but it is generally macro beers on offer. One option you could pursue is to get onto these guys http://www.drinkstore.ie/ and they will deliver craft beers to you for 10 euro if you spend under 200, free if you spend over. Tesco have recently started to stock some craft brews so you can pick some (limited) stuff up there.

i'm afraid that leaves you with getting your bum up to dublin for the weekend where there is enough choice to get you through the weekend and probably beyond.

Cavan on the otherhand is great for fishing and some water sports given the amount of lakes we are blessed with.
