Been using pumps for a few years now with pretty good results. Today's brewday went smooth, but during my hot water flush regimen, one of my pumps squeled like a pig (see Deliverence). Mine are Chuggers, but my brew buddy has Marches with similar priming problems from time to time...is this the nature of the beast (non-self priming pumps)...I'm thinking my QDs need some silicone????

If your routine was identical but your results weren't, perhaps maintenance? I believe some SAE 20 oil is supposed to be applied to the pump every 6 months or so. Most likely though it was just air in the lines causing cavitation.
