due to a family event, I will now be in Louisville on December 1st. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for bottle shops that will carry Founders CBS. I'll be in the Shelbyville, Hurstbourne area of Louisville. cheers & thanks for any/all recommendations.
Nobody can really say what's dropping where yet, or how much, but Liquor Barn Middletown (on Shelbyville Road) or Liquor Barn Springhurst will be your best bets based on location. There's a lot of good shops in town, but it really depends on how much is dropping overall.
appreciate the response. I wasn't sure what kind of founders allotments Louisville got. besides that, I'm not sure you can use KBS (or whatever else) as a gauge when it comes to CBS release.
There's no guarantee CBS drops here on Dec. 1 though. The smaller stores that get it tend to not care about rules and sell early. Liquor Barns may be holding it along with the rest of their beer/bourbon walez for the New Ownership Event. It should be on tap at Hopcat, though.
totally unavoidable on my end, but I'm totally seeing CBS slip from my grasp. although I have no clue what kind of allotment central IL is getting so maybe I'm not even missing out on anything.
I have 4 people in three states looking for me on December 1st since I don’t know how the allotments will be.
I'm not asking for a case. I'd be happy with one bottle. just want to be able to try it and tick it off my list. someone earlier mentioned draft pours...that's interesting...
From the HopCat Louisville website: Founders is bottling CBS for the first time since 2011, as part of its ongoing 20th anniversary celebration. To join in the party, each HopCat location will be hosting a CBS tapping event Dec. 1. Warmth and fuzziness feelings guaranteed.
so my brother & I hit liquor barn at 10 after 9. asked if they had any CBS and the D-Bag floor manager says "no, we're all sold out. we had a 9am release." then as I'm checking out some girl comes in and gets handed a CBS bottle to her from behind the counter. what f*cking joke!
Rule #76 - Always develop a good relationship with your local bottle shop. As unfair as it seems, it’s perfectly legal. Why wouldn’t they hold a 6 year anticipated release for someone who spends money there every week?
Sorry you missed out, I definitely didn't anticipate the line situation being what it was, and all the local beer folks were kinda silent about it. If you're still around this week, apparently some of the smaller places in town will be getting more.
I think I've secured some back home via a couple friends. you win some / you lose some. on the other hand, I was happy to find some floyds and prairie stuff that Central IL has not gotten so it wasn't a total loss.
It's not about the value of your money. It's about taking care of your regulars. Nothing against you, more a "thank you" for them.
