Hey everyone- I'm in Orange/Rockland county area- I got a few leads but nothing definite yet. Anyone know of a place that is possibly or definitively tapping CBS? Missed out on my Jersey opportunities.

    Cheers and Happy New Year!

Cool man- unless Barcade received 2 kegs of CBS though, they tapped theirs on New Years Eve. But I'll look into that- maybe they got 2 kegs?? Doubtful but ya never know

    Thanks! Cheers

Will have 1 (and possibly a 2nd) 64oz growler of Founders CBS on Sunday and can ship out Monday. Looking to set up (1) trade now with the option for a 2nd to be determined (not necessarily with the same party) if the 2nd growler fill happens. Will hammer out the specifics via BM.

      ISO:

      #1 (1) Rare, (1) Cherry Rye & (1) BCBS Regular or BCBCS 22oz bomber

      #2 (1) Bramble, (1) BCBVS & (1) BCBS Regular or BCBCS 22oz Bomber

The year of the BCBS & BCBCS bomber doesn't really matter to me, just looking to complete a set. If I'm off here, feel free to make a reasonable offer and/or tell me so. Cheers!

Nah he most likely won't lol. Ask local craft beer stores, if you're in good with them they'll usually give you a few details

For Albany folks... this is from FB. (Note: I've never even been to Lionheart, but I really want to try this beer... I hear the place is hit or miss depending on when you go.)

Hello, all. the Lionheart Pub would like to invite you to our Founders Canadian Beer Social 2015 on Thursday, January 29th at 5:00PM . This Beer Social will feature Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout and 3 other excellent Founders beers on draft. The Canadian Breakfast Stout is a very rare keg. It is one of only 4 in the region. We will offer flights for sampling. All beers will be specially priced. Below please find a menu for the event. Please come out and sample some excellent Founders beers.

    Featured Beer
Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout Imperial Stout ABV. 10.6%
CBS is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon and maple syrup undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.
    Ratebeer: 100

Founders Big Lushious Imperial Stout ABV. 7.8%
Big Lushious is a deep, rich stout that’s packed with flavor: roasted malts, all-natural dark chocolate, a subtle suggestion of burnt coffee grounds and a kiss of tart raspberries. At 7.8% ABV, it’s big, sumptuous and extravagant, but also balanced
    Ratebeer: 99

Founders Devil Dancer Triple IPA ABV. 12%
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs.
    Ratebeer: 99

    Founders Porter Porter ABV. 6.5%
Dark, Rich, and Sexy. Chocolate malts and four varieties of hops make this a very full flavored ale. Ratebeer: 100

Anyone go to Barcade tn? I was in the area eating at Fette Sau with my girlfriend and we decided to walk over to check it out around 630. At first it was completely manageable, just a few people hanging around talking and playing games. By 7 it seemed to be a mad push at the bar with people doing whatever it took to get to the front of the bar. I had multiple people attempt to try to cut us, try to purchase 6 glasses of KBS at once, and tried to pretend they were putting an empty glass down just to get in front of us. I saw multiple groups of people 4 or 5 deep just standing in a circle at the bar blocking the way for other people after they got their glass. It was pretty damn annoying, but I got my glass and walked away to play some Smash TV. Talked to a Founders rep who was really nice and asked him about the CBS keg and such forth. I decided to attempt to avoid the mess for CBS by waiting at the bar (out of the way of people trying to get other beer during the hour and actually letting a few people by me to get what they needed) for about 25 mins. When the CBS was tapped, there were people 5 rows back waving their hands in the air at the bartenders asking for 3-4-5 glasses of CBS at a time. I got a glass, walked away, enjoyed the fuck out of that amazing CBS, and left. It wasn't the worst event I've ever been to, and its no fault to Barcade, but some people are just so damn rude when it comes to beer.

This sounds consistent with reports of the event last time they tapped CBS as well.

Curious how Top Hops is going to manage what will inevitably be a mad rush next Tuesday, especially given they have about 1/10th the space that Barcade does.

I live two blocks away from Top Hops and it pains me that if its anything like Black Friday it will just be a disaster. Pains me because I HAVE to at least check it out. Just hope I can get out of work early enough...

I was there and it was no different than the last two CBS tappings, if anything it was a little tamer than the last one, from what I remember. It was annoying that when I was trying to get a non CBS beer that there were so many people just standing by the bar waiting for CBS, but I can't really blame them. Thankfully fiancee was able to grab us CBS. It definitely helped that A) we're Barcade regulars so the bartenders know us and B) she's a girl. I did have a chuckle at the people 5 rows back who thought they were going to get it.

Since it was my first CBS event at Barcade, I had nothing else to base it on. I'm sure it could have been much worse. My girlfriend actually had to grab me a glass of KBS because other people were trying to use elbows and shoulders to move past me, which I was not going to let happen, but no one would dare push a women for beer (or would they? I wouldn't be surprised). She was standing next to me and the bartender went to her first, so she just ordered my beer.

CBS was delicious but honestly would not go through that hassle again to have it.

I think it's absolutely fault to Barcade. They knew of the coming shitstorm; all bars that tap it do. There are simple ways to cut down on this behavior - you can prepour glasses to serve people more quickly. Make the CBS cash only, one per person. Have security move people along once they've gotten their pours. Sell tickets starting an hour or so before tapping time and have a dedicated CBS serving station. Etc. Plenty of bars that tap high-demand rarities like this go out of their way to make the events as pleasant as possible for all that attend. Those that don't ought to be called out for it. I mean sure, they don't HAVE to do anything to make it nicer for us, but I guess that makes it clear which bars care about high quality customer service, and which ones don't.

I definitely see where you are coming from and those suggestions should be noted by any and all bars in the future.

Sounds like the same kind of people who were at the VSG event at Blind Tiger. I knew Barcade would be a madhouse last night so I didn't go, granted I don't care for CBS or KBS.

It's ridiculous how people act at these events. While I agree with @kdb150 suggestions on how bars should run these events - a lot of blame does fall on the shoulders of the rude customers who have zero consideration for their fellow beer enthusiasts. When I go to a rare beer event, I never order more than one of anything. I get my beer and head to the back of the crowd so others can place their order. It's basic human consideration.

And if you do call those rude people out, they get pissed off at you because they are usually drunk alcoholics with anger issues. Sad.
