Eh, it was crazy that day. I don't fault OEB or the bartender at all, just shit luck is all. Thank god I opted not to try and hit up Lockhart's before I went home tonight. Idda been pissed. Poor move on their part it sounds like.

I wish I wasn't one of the people that didn't get a pour but I was.

I can not imagine that BA's would have gotten 3-4 pours of this beer in a row (like the mug club members did) and not though about the rest of the people there that did not get a single pour.

    Am I wrong about this?

This is a good question and I hope you're right. Wonder if there are any BA's who are mug club members. I'd love to get their take.

I understand that they pay money for this service. I understand if they got two total pours. I just watch people get 3 or 4 pours while every body else watched.

I would have felt like a dick.

I was at founder's when they tapped CBS at 6. I had waited at the bar since 4:30 and was talking with the waitress the whole time about CBS tappings earlier in the day (which lasted for anywhere from 1-3 hours). I went 30 minutes between pours (so as to not screw the 50 people in line at any given time) and even got one for my wife at 7:00 after the line was gone and all the patrons had been served. Guess that's the benefit to going to the source to drink it as apparently they had plenty. They definitely took care of the locals and am very thankful they did. Wish there was more to go around cuz it definitely lived up to the hype which is rare.

Did they advertise that they were tapping it and then just served the mug club? That to me is different then just serving the Mug Club members. I don't have a problem with them taking care of the mug clubbers, but if they advertised the tapping and then only poured for the mug clubbers that is a crappy move.

And as for whether someone should feel bad, I guess if you are a regular customer you've earned the special treatment. Most mug clubs are open, so anyone who wants to join can. As a business owner I definitely would hook up the people who are there regularly over a few people only there for a special release.

Had my fill at Founders as well. Had some from the 3 and 6 tappings. 3pm tapping blew in about 45 minutes and the 6pm tapping blew in an hour and a half I think. A lot more people there for the 6 tapping so they must of tapped more.

We parked at 5:25 and were speed-walking from the car thinking it would be packed... had 2 glasses each and a nice dinner. Nice surprise.

What they did was advertise that they were tapping CBS at 6pm. Said there was plenty to go around..(found out it was a 1/4 keg)..That day they let their "mug club" members have it a couple hours early (1 to 2)...THAT WAS NEVER ADVERTISED....There were people that waited atleast 2 hours for a pour, and while they waited ordered food and drink all while telling the wait staff they were there for CBS....The Keg blew at 6:04...

People were walking in at around 6pm and getting pours by walking right up to the bar while the people who came early that sat at tables (ordering food) did not get anything....It was extreme poor form by a place I really like...Im not going to say im never going there again, as I like the place...It was just greatly disappointing...

That's a surprise. I thought it was going to be a s@$tshow. Too bad I already had other commitments yesterday. Would have been worth it!

Did anyone go to Cottage Bar last night? That was my plan until I heard Founders had it on.

Missed the earlier tapping but arrived around 430, had the pork belly sandwich special and a few pints, and then got 3 pours between 2 of us when the 6pm tapping started. Having a table was a major advantage, the line moved really slowly, and servers were going around with full trays of CBS.

Cottage Bar is so small I can just imagine what it looked like in there when they tapped the CBS. Probably no room to breathe.

Tommy, were you at Lockharts? I didn't see you.

It was a bit of a mess. We got lucky and were the second table to get pours delivered. The first table was Griffinclaw/BFD folk. Jason wanted to enjoy some relatively inexpensive CBS before he holds his keg hostage and rapes his customers on price like he always does. It was definitely cute seeing them get served first while another table there at 430 missed out.

The Mug Club situation was a little overdone. When you advertise an event and people are coming, perhaps you could limit the pours to 1-2 full pours a member? People were going to town on that keg, I can't blame them but it doesnt really add up.

Were you walking down Mifflin, from Wisconsin? If so, I think I passed you. I wish I could have stayed longer as it was such a nice calm event.

The people walking in at 6 and going to the bar most certainly did not get pours, the ones at the bar getting pours were there before 5:30 for sure, maybe since 5. Main problem was tables & mug clubs double fisting

    A few did.
I'd love to know how many ounces were left to be poured at 6p.
Some people got shooter glasses, some got scotch glasses, some had pint glasses, some had smaller beer glasses.
I was waiting to see a bowl of CBS.

@beercity_chris I hit up cottage bar while I was in GR. My lady and I stopped in and had an early dinner and got a 10oz pour each. I thought the staff there did an awesome job considering the crowd. The waitresses went around and took pre-orders (only 1 beer per person) for those sitting at tables to make sure we didn't miss out on the pour when the crowd flowed in and flooded the bar. The keg kicked lightning quick, but it looked like the majority of people (in my area at least) got a pour. Seemed very fair and efficient. I wanted to hit up Founders for more CBS action, but we had a long drive home and the GF had an early meeting. Luckily, she saw the joy on my face and donated half of her pour to my taste buds. I'm really glad to finally meet my unicorn. It was a dream come true!

Im glad they handled it well. I had images of people storming the bar in my head. When they get small quantities taking pre-orders is nice. Rockwell's did that last year for KBS week.

I was at the early tapping at founders had 2 glasses, went to the cottage tapping also, and had one pour. Both places were packed, but everything was handled very well. There were a lot of smiling faces, what an amazing beer, and what an amazing community.

How do these tappings usually work? The place by me in Cleveland usually taps KBS once or twice a year and they just sell tickets to people whenever they come in...that way they are guaranteed a beer. The under sell the tickets to make sure there is extra, which is up for grabs at that point but most people (that I witnessed) that already got a glass won't get another.

I was in Lockhart's last night. I won't overly reiterate what a lot of people have already covered. The main thing was that they advertised this tapping and mentioned there would be plenty, yet the tap blew at 6:04. Many people, myself included, left work, fought traffic to get there, got tables, ate food, drank other beer, and missed out because people walked up and crammed the bar, and because they decided to serve a select few unlimited amounts. I just feel that this could have been handled better. It sounds like a lot of other places got it right, and I am glad people are getting to sample this great beer.

Other places are going to have it in SE Michigan, for sure. I am aware of a few that have had kegs delivered, but I am not sure of when all of the tappings will occur. I will just have to keep watch and hope I get lucky.
