CBS is back

Last night at Long Room CBS was still flowing after 9:30 - when I left.

 

My sentiments exactly.

 

May the CBS tonight at Sheffield's flow like an endless river.

 

I left the Long Room at 11pm and it was still on.

 

Kicked at Sheffield ' at 7:24. Less than half an hour.

 

I might stop by local option after work, but CBS will be gone by then. Nonetheless, there is some great stuff that I have been wanting to try that is on that list!

 

This is honestly quite surprising. Was it packed?

 

It wasn't bad at all as long as you showed up relatively around the start time. Got there just after 7 and was able to get two pours. Definitely kicked around 7:30 (give-or-take), though.

 

Guess I was about 5 minutes too late to Sheffields. Surly Smoke was pretty tasty though. Maybe Hopleaf on Monday will work out better.

 

Screw this. I'm hitting St. Charles up on Feb. 12th.

 

All of the tables were full, but other than that there was plenty of room to easily move around. Finished my one pour, sat down for dinner, and splurged on a 2011 bottle of Bell's Expedition Stout.

 

Local Option CBS kicked in slightly under 30 minutes. I believe everyone inside at 3 got a pour, although I know that some waiting in line outside didn't. Even without CBS it was a fantastic list of beers - the best they've haf in well over a year, in my opinion

 

Went to Jungle Jim's Barrel Aged Beer Bash last weekend where they were tapping CBS - the line for it started early, and was about 70-100ppl deep when the event started. They had per-poured pitchers of beer to help the line go faster, but the volunteers at the event didn't know what they were doing (and apparently neither did most the people in line, me included sadly ) -- and they poured everyone Backwoods Bastard for the first 20 minutes saying it was CBS, and I don't think anyone called them out on it while they were doing it either. 'd never had CBS before and was really, really surprised when my glass was amber and not pitch black. I thought they had made a mistake, but didn't say anything because I figured I was the idiot and they knew their stuff. Sure enough, went back 20 minutes later and saw that the pitchers had turned from dark amber to black ... yeah - wrong beer guys. It was fantastic - and this years backwoods was much better than from the bottle.

 

I don't see this posted on Founders' site, but The Grafton in Lincoln Square will tap a keg of CBS on 2/14, per their Twitter.

 

enjoyed a couple pours last night at Bluebeard in Indianapolis. Just as good as I remembered it....

Was that for the Founders dinner? And do you think they are serving it today, or was it only for the dinner?

 

they put it on for public consumption in conjunction with the dinner. CBS was with the 4th course and that was right around 8:00, which is when we got served in the bar. I'm told that the keg kicked during lunch today....

 

Does anyone know of any places in the Appleton/Green Bay area that might get this one?
