You might be right, according to the GTMW 2009 and 2010 programs, CBS is a "Double Coffee, chocolate oatmeal stout aged in a maple barrel." You can find the programs here. Interestingly, it was listed as 9% ABV as opposed to the 10.6% in the bottles. I wonder if they changed the recipe for the bottle version. The current draft version is also listed at 10.6%.

That's really great Founders, but when is Mango Magnifico being brought back?

Good, hopefully this will deter people from coming to 4elf on Saturday! LOL

    Lots going on Saturday:

    -4Elf
    -Hopcat Detroit Grand Opening
-Holiday Market Royal Oak Bourbon County Release
    -Ashley's CBS tapping

Living in A2, I'm strongly leaning towards the cheapest option. Haven't had CBS before.

Can just say this beer was Amazing...Drove to Lansing, since I believe every bar there had it, lol....Was everything I hoped it would be....Best part was, most bars were $1 an oz or under....Im sure once it makes it way to SE Michigan it will be outrageously prices....IE Ashleys probably charging $15 for a 4oz pour cause its .rar

^Ashley's A2 in particular doesn't gouge in my experience. 8.5oz pours of Vanilla Rye and Coffee were ~$8.50 at their event.

What's your knee-jerk ranking relative to other BA stouts? Were the EL bars packed? Do you think there's any chance of it hanging around into tomorrow?

Had it tonight, as well. Lived up to the hype and then some. Never thought I would have the chance. Nice to see the Lansing area get some love from Founders.

I too made the trek and its amazing. Glad I got to try it fresh to compare to the bottle I have later.

Ugh! So want a fresh pour of this. One of the absolute best beers I've ever had! Blows away anything else I've ever had from Founders in my opinion. But I really like those maple sweetened brews.

Meanwhile their hometown is getting boned apparently. Can't find any info on GR tappings. Anyone with any info send me a pm so I can finally try this nectar. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any info but I'm quite certain GR isn't and won't get boned. If it's showing up in Lansing today, Ann Arbor Saturday, and Iowa City in two weeks, surely there will be ample opportunities to try it in GR. I'm hoping it'll show up at a time and place I can try it again too.

Id imagine it will show up on tap at founders soon enough. Though I agree I would feel the same if I lived in GR

Even though I couldn't make it up to Lansing, I appreciate the way Founders did this. Releasing the beer in several bars in a small geographic area so as to mitigate the inevitable beard stampede.

I also like this did this quietly and quickly on a Tuesday. Those restaurants/bars probably had their best Tuesday of the year. And the CBS news quickly got out to the true craft beer enthusiasts to enjoy.
