Buddy said he was up at a local liquor store last night and the guy said that J J Taylor rep told him to pull any bombers from their shelves because they considered most of them to be past the "best by" date. This included a case of Zhukov that Collins distributed to them last week. They also took the total types of CCB brews available for order from several to only a few regulars. Stated the distribution was very limited on even Tocobaga and the White Oak.

Just gearing up for more sales of the Humidor Series or why would this be?

    P.S. This is in Tampa

Oh yeah and he couldnt sell any of the bombers and they would not offer a refund on what was still remaining.

So Taylor told the "guy", who told your buddy, who told you, and now we are being told. I say that's quite a line of hearsay. I don't believe CCB uses a "best by". Jai Alai and Helles use brew dates. I share your curiosity, but this doesn't add up.

I believe my buddy. Im just saying, dont expect to see alot of things released from the brewery widely available if the distribution rep is telling the owner of a liquor store to pull bottles.

Could just be a temporary thing, but maybe not.

we have told JJ that our beers have a 90 day shelf life and anything beyond that is out of date. however the two exceptions are Zhukov's and Warmer Winter, which have a shelf life of a year. a lot of this has stemmed from our frustration of seeing retailers just buy up a bunch of stuff and letting it sit on the shelves and rot well beyond what we feel is the best time to consume it.

I have found Zhukov at two different locations in the past two months, as well as Winter Warmer.

Good for you, I snagged one hidden at the ABC on Kennedy back in March and havent seen one since!

I've bumped into Guava Grove, Sugar Plum and even Evander in the past 2 months but Zhukov has pretty much been a brewery only release for me...

I found a Guava Grove at that little liquor store on Westshore. It was still quite tasty. This was last week.

This makes much more sense and sounds excellent. Now maybe my home craft brew shop can get a better selection

Just send some of the more perishable stuff to Charleston, SC. We would gladly drink anything and everything CCB, that would make it here.

Silent frustration from the CCB fans here in South Florida. MZ distribution in S. Florida last year was a f'ing joke. Yet it sits on shelves in Tampa 10 months later? WTF?!?!

I got a bunch of MZ in South FL in 2012, and it actually sat on the shelf of a certain ABC.
