More shelf turds coming. Maximum saturation!!! http://www.chicagotribune.com/dining/ct-food-cigar-city-chicago-20180124-story.html
Jai Alai looks like it's going to be contract brewed and not actually from Tampa..... However, Florida Cracker is the best beach/90 degree+ summer beer hands down.
I really hope this isn't another Pseudo Sue situation where we constantly get 6 week old contracted brewed beer that is a shadow of its' reputation. However, I will buy some the day it comes out and I hope it's great.
Well, it appears CCB will only sell Brevard--brewed beer here which is 'indistinguishable' from that which brewed at the main brewery. We shall see. The following rationale in bold as to why they think the brand will succeed here makes no sense to me. How does Chicago folks traveling to Tampa (in March no less) for an event to purchase a limited release in Huna correlate to the same people buying CCB's core beers in Chicago?
Maduro is my favorite brown ale bar none, so I'm really looking forward to having that available. Florida cracker is a great summer beer - Im sure I'll get some of that once the weather breaks. I am surprised to see Guayabera moving to a regular offering - when fresh thats a stellar beer. I also hear they will be sending up some good stuff (read bombers) to get the launch off the ground so that will be nice.
I've only had the NC-brewed Jai Alai, but it's very tasty. Not in a fly off the shelves way, but more of an "awesome, glad this beer is on shelves when I don't know what to buy" sort of way.
So, as you probably have seen CCB is here and on shelves. Grabbed Maduro and Guayabera over the weekend - Maduro was every bit as good as I remembered. Seriously, I know its a brown ale, but its fantastic and well worth trying. Guayabera was also great just like I remembered. I'm quite glad to have CCB up here - moreso than any other brewery to recently hit the Chicago market. Also, for anyone interested I noticed that Binnys's will be having a launch event at the Lincoln Park location with some nice stuff on tap:
