I ended up going by at 4pm and grabbing a crowler. Not much demand for this one. I cracked it last night and was rather disappointed. Not much cherry flavor or sourness came through. It tasted more like a generic fruit treatment IPA. By far my least favorite of the Cuvees

Agree it wasn't good at all. No tartness, sourness or cherry.

Sounds like an accident.... Isn't that how the Reese's was originally invented according to those old commercials?

.........you got peanut butter on my chocolates. No, you got chocolate in my peanut butter!

That turned out pretty good, (and it's my favorite Halloween candy.)

Chocolate Cherry Almond Double Nut Brown Ale - drank this last night. Probably the best Growler Tuesday treatment in quite awhile, IMO. Absolutely freakin' delicious. Like someone dropped a Cella's cherry into my beer. Very happy drank this one, almost sent it out to another trader.

I have to agree. That was the best growler Tuesday I have gotten my hands on in a long time. It was almost too sweet for me but towed the line.

They've continued to use cedar and release cedar aged beers. They just been unable to source enough quality cedar to continue to produce, can, and release the Humidor Series IPA. They're still been doing Tony Jannus which is also aged on cedar as well as the occasional cask beer treatment (includes some "humidor series" labeled ones). A while back, when asked how they were still able to do Tony Jannus, one of the bartenders/brewers said that for the batch they utilized cedar planks like the ones you buy to cook salmon on. They just bought a bunch of them and tossed them right into the tank.

Oh interesting. I was under the impression that thye used a specific cedar for the humidor series.

It just wasn't cost effective for them to brew anymore. Why spend the extra time/money brewing humidor when you can't even keep up with jai alai? I am sure they will release it again eventually in a 22oz bomber for $15.

When they started the humidor series, they were sourcing their Spanish cedar from one place. Eventually, that place began to not be able to supply CCB with the quality and quantity that they required to brew this series. I've been told several times at the brewery that if they could get their hands on the same quality and enough of it, that we would see a return of the Humidor Series.

We will have to settle for small batches for now.

The Smoked English Imperial Stout from the Humidor series is still by far the worst craft beer (that wasn't super old or infected) that I have had lol. However, the logo of CCB never made more sense than when I was drinking the beer. Straight up cigar ash.

I love CCB but damn, that one was brutal.
