CCB Growler Tuesday Thread

This is spectacular by the way. I know a lot of people are sick of the cypress "aged" treatments that CCB has been turning out and have been down on Growler Tuesday but this one has set the bar pretty high. It's definitely on pat with some of the best treatments they have ever done.

The red wine adds an extra punch of tartness. Cypress is subtle and creates a well balanced extra layer to the beer. Definitely a step up from the base beer. I literally cracked a Lacto Raspberry last night (which was a nice little coincidence) and I throughly enjoyed it but felt it could have benefited from a bit more tartness. This treatment delivers what I felt was missing.

And with the added wood aged treatment I'd put it in same level as some of the DeGarde offerings I've had (better than the Imperial Cherry Raz but not as good as the Imperial Black Raz)

Not growler tues item, but figured this is where most specific Ccb stuff is. I noticed that they have Humidor IPA on cask... Anyone know if it's back? Even if it's just a couple kegs in the tasting room, I'd be happy...

 

It's probably not "back" but rather this is just a small batch/cask created by the treatment team. CCB has said the issue that cause Humidor IPA (and Tony Janus Pale Ale) to "disappear" is that they have been unable to affordably sourced cedar that is up to their standards for quality. I do know that they have brewed a couple batches of Tony Janus using cedar planks (like the ones meant for grilling salmon) and perhaps that is what they did for this cask treatment. So if you love it you better get down there quick and get it...the casks usually don't last that long

Thought it would be Vendini aged on Cypress...a beer that gets better an hour later as it keeps refreshing and captchas the verification as you digitize history

Today's Growler Tuesday is Humidor IPA

 

Man..love that beer...anyone else remember the early days of CCB when this beer was readily available in 25 ounce Bombers at their local beer store??...MISS THOSE DAYS!!

 

Today's offer is Lue Gim Gong Pale Ale. Invasion pale ale treated with White Oak and Citrus (orange peel)

 

Today is White Oak Peach IPA

 

That's one worth going for...had that on cask once and it was incredible

Incredible selection of 7 HF Beers...anyone know what this is all about?...seems awful random and out of the blue

 

Probably sent them down with their beers for Huna day I would guess.
